well tbf it wouldn't surprise me if nearly everyone with a copy would at least try Elite, after all there is the basic free service and there's advertising everywhere saying you get 2 hours double xp if you sign up to elite for free...

I can't believe the state Elite is in atm tbh, I mean they they even had a beta for the thing. I understand that perhaps there was higher demand than expected but they know what sales are like for COD and what they were expecting for MW3 so it stands to reason that millions and millions would be trying to access elite.

Some good tips. I'd say with the jet and choppers it's not so much about finding the right control scheme but just sticking at it. The thing is though BF3 has always been about mp... it only feels the need to add some form of single player because they believed they had to in order to compete with COD.
The first person shooter single player isn't dead, BF is just a game with it's interests firmly in MP. There are plenty of decent single player fps games with mp tacked on...

What does it do differently to the pc version? It's just a lot of the time the reason someone would get a game on consoles rather than pc is because they can just jump in and play rather than worrying about what settings their pc can handle etc... with minecraft however I would have thought it would run on anyone's pc or laptop... so who is this aimed at?
I doubt it to save on size however It wouldn't actually surprise me if the HD texture pack is single player only as the console mp is already a bit dodgy as it is, doubt it could handle better textures in mp
But this discussion is about the graphics.... and without the texture pack, at least in the first picture, they look absolutely horrible.
As I say in my comment below however, this will only affect a few who either can't or wont install the pack.
I don't think we'll ever see consoles where you can upgrade the hardware or we'd just be playing on PC's lol
The whole draw of consoles is that if you went to a shop and bought a console, any game published for that console will play on that console the same as the next.

I do think they said this level is more scripted and used to show off the games various aspects but it did just look very very scripted.

To me this isn't an issue at all and imo makes the dark areas stand out more often. Entering the pitch black area filled with ghosts below firelink shrine is far more spooking because of the sunlight and nice ruins/greenery above.

Agree. To a large percentage of more casual gamers, they are likely to try the beta since it's there on the store to see what the fuss is about. They'll probably play it a bit, get killed by people camping under the map and that will be that

Feel Massively let down by this game. Yes I wasn't expecting graphics anywhere near as good as pc but there are much nicer games on console than this.
And also I absolutely hate Rush. There just isn't any tactics to it.
