well considering they wern't just developing the game in those 4 years, but also the game engine....no. I expect kz3 to arrive in about 1.5 - 2 years. Think about it. if they already have the engine built, they've got kz2 looking and playing great so now they just need to expand on that for the next installment. It won't take that long compared to building a game from the ground up + engine.

although i'd be amazed if ms don't fight back with a price drop of their own, didn't they say not too long ago that they wouldn't be dropping the price any lower for quite some time (being at the sweet price point it was i.e. not too cheap but not 2 expensive)

i'm sure it's been said before but we used to get loads of articles saying 'PS3 needs a price cut else it's doomed' and now there are rumors of a price cut and there are articles saying 'Why a PS3 price cut won't change a thing'

the 4 games compared in the article were a bit odd: GTA4, Blacksite, Turok and SVR.
GTA4: just recently announced that the 360's sales wernt that far ahead of the ps3's
Blacksite: 360 lead in sales but, well, there wernt many sales at all because it was a poor game
Turok: 360 lead but not a great gap + terrible game
SVR: again lowish sales and not much of a gap
soon should do it tbh since Sony have actually picked up the pace when you compare how they were doing a year ago. I mean you only have to look at some recent multi-platform sales to see how sonys closing the gap. In all fairness i'd say they're probably less worried now... but bringing in a price drop would further increase the sales on ps3 hardware/software to get it even closer to its competition.

I just don't see what people gain from defending 1 device and 'bashing' another. I bought both a 360 and a ps3 because there's games i wanna play on both, but it seems some people refuse to touch their 'rival' console.
OK you may only own 1 console because the games on a different console don't appeal to you. Obv nothing wrong with that and it would be stupid to say all 1 console owners are biased fanboys. But why some people have to defend their chosen console and throw hate tow...
I'd expect the 299 to have a smalelr hdd than the 399 else for the bundle you'd be paying an extra $100 for 2 release titles!
It's so annoying when i have a 20gb and could really do with upgrading. I've been looking at buying an external hdd to back up stuff like my ps3 and several pc's in my house. To put it in perpective. I could either buy a 120GB hdd for my 360, or a 1TB external hard drive for the same price. Absolutely disgusting. Just terrible that nearly all peripherals for the 360 have to be offial ones meaning ms can charge whatever the hell they like!
It would be a smart move for sony tbh just now things are starting to get rolling for them:
- plenty of announced exlusives for 2009/10
- multi-platform games are near enough identical now and the sales are showing that people are starting to buy multi-plats for ps3 whereas in the past they prob would have bought the 360 version.
- The addition of trophies is a big thing. Any offline games in the past i bought for 360 for achievements cus it's a nice thing to aim fo...
the annoying thing is, this content looks like it'll be fun, but why the hell couldn't it be in the full game?? it really wouldn't surprise me if they could have included it in the game, but held back just to release as dlc.

hmmm so because sony's console is last place in sales there games arn't allowed to have good graphics and no game what so ever is allowed to use CGI?? very odd article. As mentioned, did people have a god at games like gow or halo when they were first shown with cgi trailers...
I think people are annoyed because of the whole 'killzone 2 e3 trailer' which is silly when the game looks as good as it does. going back to halo. That first trailer looked way way better than ingame does ...
1) Haven't they said loads of times the reason for not including co-op? Still with all the pressure from fans and the reviews basically only knocking the game on it's lack of co-op, who knows.
2) well they already said they're looking into bringing some remakes of kz1 maps. I'm not sure about vehicles cus the only vehicles available in single player were the tank and mech and i just they they would be too powerful so either people will just play the standard kz2 maps or play the ...
psn is a great service considering what you get for free but... i don't see how devs could find psn better when xbl is easy to integrate into every game with the whole cross game chat, invites and so on. I'm guessing they are simply given the code from ms or whatever where as with psn it's up to the developers to ensure ps3 games work with psn.

dlc extends the life of a game and altho this dlc will do that it's hard not to think 'why couldn't this be included with the full game' - i mean it's not some added costumes, it's a competitive multiplayer mode. I can't think of any game that shipped and then multiplayer was added at a cost.
They've obv been working on this alongside the 'full' game so it's hard not to feel that they've held it back simply to sell it as dlc.
socom 1+2 were amazing and were the games that really kicked off ps2 online. socom 3 was embaressing and CA was a joke which brings us onto Confrontation. Considering, as mentioned, socom was the iconic game of ps2 online, it's amazing how badly they screwed up Socom:C:

I'm not really suprised with the sales tbh. We all know it would sell well and you can't deny that it being a halo game will help it. It wouldn't surprise me if it has better sales that most of the other 'big' and highly rated 'rts' games on pc such as Dawn of War 2, Empire: Total War and world in conflict.
