i think a new metroid prime would be perfect for vr
im bored of zelda news already. if we are going to have this every day from now until next spring,, im going to be sick of this game before i even play it.
this is another reason why nintendo should have had more on show at e3... variety
i preferred when they used the potential number of polygons on screen at one time to measure the performance of a computer. it was something that was real and tangible - you could picture it.
teraflops are meaningless to me, its such an abstract concept.
in a way, nintendo have ruined the nx's launch, because now it doesnt have a game that will ever hope to match breath of wild.
lets face it- BOW is a wiiu game that nintendo have deliberately delayed in order to give the nx a must have launch title. scavenging from the wiiu!
it says a lot about the situation at nintendo- they dont have a big title for the nx, not one that would sell the console anyway, if they had that killer app for nx, they would h...
it seems that nintendo have made an all new adventure game, and just set it in the zelda universe just to make it saleable.
if its nothing like zelda, then why make it a zelda title? why not give us a new character and new world?
its all marketing.
so if there is the usual lava area, link can survive the extreme heat bare chested? thats just silly. same for ice stages.
i liked the different tunics
seems like link has lost his identity
this game has been in development for ten years....! to put things into perspective, 10 years ago-
-obama wasnt even the president of the united states of america
- android didnt even exist
- The Shard (londons tallest skyscraper) didnt even exist
-the one world trade centre (replacing the twin towers) was beginning construction (and completed in 2013)
-bluray was launched
etc etc...
i actually bought a ps3 in anticipation for this game around 2010... 6 years ago!
the length of time taken to produce this game suggests a troubled development. im afraid it will be another duke nukem forever, a game stuck in development hell, and only released because so much time and money has been invested in it that it would be a waste not to.
of course im hoping im wrong, and they have managed to turn around what has obviously been a game that has ...
its an nx game now. the nx version is the one to get, the one where their actual vision for the game will be realised.
the wiiu version is just a consolation, and to be brutally honest- the graphics dont look impressive. the style is impressive, the scale is impressive, you can see the direction they are going for, but the execution (what you actually see on the screen) is not that good. just very normal looking.
on wiiu it looks little more impressive ...
nobody was proven wrong. nintendo turned their booth into a zelda theme park, of course it was going to stand out in peoples minds. if sony turned their entire booth into a swamp out of god of war which featured a 70ft animatronic colossus, of course it would attract the same attention.
for people in attendance, nintendos booth was probably the one that was most interesting, the one you would want to take pictures of, get involved in.
but from a specta...
A shame it took them an entire generation to acknowledge this
cool story
@brandanT
haha thats true. but think of the older generation gta's, say, from the ps2. they werent as densely populated. even when they were supposed to be new york and California. because of hardware limitations.
even in the new gta when you go to the rural locations, it never feels oddly barren. it feels like its suppose to.
the fact people, many people are complaining the new zelda looks oddly barren, says it all. its more barre...
ocarina came out in like, 1998 lol the expectations are different now.
I think it's emptiness is a result of the technical limitations along with the resources available to Nintendo - the time and money needed to put in the work.
GTA has a massive map that is densely populated, but it's also a game with a gigantic budget and team to match... I don't think Nintendo are devoting the same level of resources to this game
Breath of the wild is a corny title. I hope it's a working title they intend to change between now and next years release.
Zelda titles usually evoke mystery and curiosity.. what is the ocarina of time? Who is the twilight princess? Breath of the wild is just an obvious description of the experience they want for the player.
It needs to be changed to something more subtle and interesting
A great summary, no need to sit through an 8hour treehouse broadcast full of spoilers
i agree.
but lets not bs, what nintendo showed was a nx game. it is the wiiu version of what is now the nx launch title/ system seller.
its only going to be on the wiiu as a consolation to wiiu owners, and just for nintendo to save face.
they didnt need to show it running on nx because fans now know what to expect for the nx version- what they saw, but smoother, longer draw distances, perhaps higher res, and other exclusive content etc ...
I hope it's an open world Mario game in the scale of the new zelda, but set in the mushroom kingdom
I mean just imagine Mario 64, but on a massive scale. Nintendo need a game with the same impact that game created when it was first unveiled
remastering a game one generation later is so lame. consumers are suckers
