They have been selling wii's over the last month or so for about 220.00 GBP (standalone wii,) the standard package you would buy in any regular shop for 179.00 GBP.
Then they do crazy bundles that go past the 300 pounds mark, and i feel sorry for the people buying them, because they are paying over the odds and getting a bad deal.
Also, on the subject of mis-information about wii products, the other week they were selling wii fit plus with the board (again, overprice...
Whatever it is, Zii is a terrible name
Knowing Nintendo that could either mean-
A) its at the concept art stage
or
B) its almost finished
Tatsunoko vs Capcom+ No More Heroes 2+ Silent Hill: Shattered Memories+ Demon Blades= a busy Jan-Feb for me :)
''Seriously you are just bitter, the game is freaking good and people actually have trouble with the last few worlds.''
Um.. No. It's not good at all. I'm not bitter either, i have had practically every major mario game out there, and this one is an impostor. Nintendo might fool a lot of people by putting the 'new' tag before the title, but they don't fool me- its old, and not in a good way.
''You and your feelings, silly boy''
Name calling, how mature...
New Mario Bros sucks. When people talk about how amazing it is, i really do wonder if they are blinded by the mario name.. or just playing a different game to the one i played.
Awful graphics- check
Same old gameplay mechanics from the 80s- check
Terrible music- check
The feeling that it was made by a third party team who were in a rush- check
The feeling that minimal effort was put in to turn around maximum profit- check
...
I don't like how the writer speaks for all wii users, i didn't buy a wii with the sole purpose of playing Zelda. In my opinion there is a degree of taking a leap of faith when you are an early adopter of any console, the success of a console doesn't rest on one title.
I'm getting this game. I think it has divided opinion because it is from a game series that has lots of fans, and the 're-imagining' has irritated some of those fans. Obviously reviewers can be fans themselves, so when a reviewer who is a fan of the series marks it down, can you really trust their opinion? I think not.
I have never played a silent hill game so i will see it for what it truly is, rather than through nostalgia tinted glasses.
Just as the twighlight princess was released right at the end of the gamecubes life and ported to the wii- maybe the new zelda will see a release on wii and wii2 (HI-res)? After all, its pretty late in the day for a new zelda on wii, and so far they have only shown concept art. so a christmas 2010 release at the very earliest (optimistic) taking into account nintendos notoriety for pushing release dates back.
The first game was cool, this has a lot of potential.
I'm really excited about the end of this year and next year for wii games, i have Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Tatsunoko v Capcom: Ultimate All Stars on my list of must buys
The motion controls and the humorous gestures are partly what made it so enjoyable. I think it would seem underwhelming on ps3 or 360, they would have to change a lot to bring it up to the scale. And then it just wouldn't be Mad World. Its a simple and effective game designed for wii.
Have you not played resident evil? When you run out of ammo and you are completely powerless? That is when it is the most frightening. Not when you have a grenade launcher. This is meant to be a horror game right? I'm glad they went this direction, if i want to play cowboy i'll buy a shoot'em up game.
I haven't played a silent hill game before so this game will be new to me, although i have watched several of the games in the series being played. I have also watched the movie (...
They now go for applicants from prestigious colleges and universities... Who then use those 'skills' to make trash like wii music.
I didn't know Miyamoto wasn't involved, that would explain it. I thought the same about the mario party games, they have all the characters and themes of mario games but don't have the charm. I wish they made more of an effort with the art direction of this game. Apart from that, its good.
I bought this game on release date, its good. But the graphics suck, they remind me of the old pc platformer games, like james pond. Functional, but bland and charmless.
Its a sad fact. You go to any site where you discuss games related news and it always turns into a childish dispute about which console is best. This site interested me because it did seem to have some mature discussion about games, but it wasn't before long i realised it's the same as anywhere else. (expects a senseless thumbs down in true n4g tradition.)
I have also realised the site has a huge bias towards ps3/360 related news, anybody would think the wii didn't even exist. ...
that is all.
Its nothing new. I would have been excited if they at least gave the game a different art direction. Instead they are using that horrible style they used in the handheld version. Super mario world had a great style, this game just looks bland.
I will still buy it but i feel nintendo are just being lazy, they could have made a new 2d mario bros game (mario bros 4) but instead go for the easy option of 'remaking' the old.
The last game i bought was metroid prime trilogy, but i've seen it all before. The next game i will buy is the new mario bros, but again, i've seen it all before. After that, the next game i plan on buying is the silent hill remake- essentially seen it all before.
The situation sucks, i really am starting to despise nintendo for selling out and leaving us 'gamers' in the cold. Being drip-fed 3 games a year is unforgivable.
It sounds like the Wii has gone to sleep. ZZzzzii
