mario was a game originally built around technical limitations. Marios red and blue characteristics are defined by graphical limitations at the time. But by the time it got to the 16 bit era, designers could show some actual style and flair.

I could write a lengthy review which gives detailed reasons why this game is awful, but i thought i would just summaries the game in one word: crap.
The graphics on past mario games had better design, style. NSMB has no style, well it does but its a cheap 'artist was uninspired at the time' style. If the game had better art direction it might have distracted from the fact its a terrible game. But its a terrible game, with awful graphics. And the music is unbearable.
it sucks. only people who say otherwise are the type who would never admit something they bought was rubbish. I'm not one of those people, i bought it and it is just rubbish. It has nothing on the other mario games.
Worst of all is the drab graphics, uninspired to the point of being painful to look at.

This is unexpected, my interest has grown vastly in this game after knowing absolutely nothing about it until recently.
i might buy this. we dont have any good flight games on the wii, maybe nintendo could give the starfox license to this developer to make starfox wii.
lightening doesn't strike in the same place twice, nintendo caught the imagination of the peoples minds because the wii was a genuine innovator. Natal and wand are merely imitators. I really hope they fail, just in the name of originality.
We need developers to create and innovate new technology- not saying something is doodo, and then 5 years later feverishly imitating and bringing a similar product to the market.

Its great that limited edition actually means limited edition, for a change. I think this package will have added value in the future if they really are completely discontinued.
Its a great package, i'm playing metroid prime 2 at the moment and it is really difficult. Not a perfect game but the package is great value.
Anybody else think this game looks really geeky? It looks on par with warcraft for geekiness. Will i have to grow a huge beard and don glasses to play this game?

Yeah i agree on most of your points.
Intellectual property is difficult to protect, and complicated. Especially in an age where digital copies can be made instantly.
When i think of it, it makes me realise why nintendo keep using unconventional in-house media (cartridges etc,) they are obviously very conscious of piracy.
I think you would see things different if you had a trademarked property that thousands of people disregarded on a daily basis.
Also, Nintendo do encourage fan art, in the official nintendo magazines there were fan art competitions. So i guess it depends on the context the 'nintendo inspired' art is being shown. I guess outside of a controlled space nintendo has every right to make those removal demands.
Precisely, nintendo has to enforce this sort of action at some point, just to remind people who are the owners. its not like they are shooting every person who draws a zelda picture!
Heck, there must be thousands of pieces of fan art that nintendo just ignores, but its not good business to ignore it all of the time, especially when its something ambitious like a film. Then what, a fan game, then it gets out of control.

I had the PS2 and yes it was great, but for me it only represents the pinnacle of the way gaming was. I sold it and was basically done with gaming- there was nothing truly new or exciting about the experiences anymore.
But then the wii came along and i couldn't resist it. Yes, it did present some old ideas but with a new control method, but at least it was doing something genuinely not done before. And obviously i was not the only one who's imagination was captured, as the succes...
Nintendo have the right to do as they please, after all zelda is their property.
