60fps is necessary for this type of game. I'd rather they scale the resolution back if they have to.
This argument has been floating around the interwebz for years now.
You had pc gamers with low end hardware and casual mmo gamers trying to fuel their side of the argument that 30fps is the same as 60.
last gen console gamers were completely oblivious to this argument thinking that pc gamers went high end for graphics and not frame rates.
It's nice that most of you finally realize whats going on now.
back in the day UT and Quake masters were revered due to their skill with a mouse and keyboard. They all but wrote the book on twitch gaming.
My guess is they want to push the new unreal engine to its limits and they could only do that making it a pc exclusive. If they announced multiplat then you'd have a bunch of whiny 12 year olds throwing their snot around the internet because the pc version was massively superior.
I usually hovered at 80-100fps @ 1080p back when I played.
It was smooth it was silky
planetside definitely would play better if they pushed for highest frame rates instead of resolution. It's a great game for those who havn't played tried it.
basically if you're a strategy game buff. Then you've never truly experienced a strategy game if you've never played Total War. Only on pc
ArsTechnica article holds more weight than you'll ever have. Burden of proof is on you to prove them wrong.
I'm not surprised considering EA has been profiting more off pc than ps3 for years.

"the publisher mentioned that it believes"
My guess is they are lying through their teeth because 500 million is a hard pill to swallow. Shareholders won't accept anything less than "record pre-orders" so they basically said
"I think it's doing record numbers"
social oriented usually means always online....
thuway....really?
^this
I'm gonna trade my ps4 for a dx12 Gpu...
ignorance is bliss
go back to all the occulus rift articles last year.
Just because you planted your head in the sand about it doesn't mean everyone else forgot.
"You stole that"
"no I didn't"
"well....because you said you didn't, you're fine"
if only the world were that simple
Cod 4 did 48 man servers on pc. Seriously good stuff
There's only so much software can take you.
As a former pc benchmark enthusiast every time a new card came I was on forums with folks with rigs similar to mine asking about performance boosts. Most of the time the boost you get is aboout 25%-ish
Mind you this is with new and better hardware. Most I've seen seen software optimized performance go was when AMD came out with their new BF3 drivers that put them above Nvidia. It was about a 10-20fps increse...
Kevin Spacey is a master of his craft. He keeps the blacklist from becoming a generic mess.
But ya...This game looks dull
looks like it wants to be battlefield...but doesn't come close
It certainly isn't bad news for gamers. Which is who N4G is for.
