I actually remember how articles read pre battlefield 2142. A lot like this. However in the end future tech and modern tech have its own group of fans. It will not be as successful as the last few titles.
Now the time starts ticking before the the casual fps craze starts to die and Valve redefines the fps genre with HL3. I've been waiting patiently for years dabbling in some cod4 and battlefield 3 along the way but they aren't "It".

Ouch when I see people list those tired old franchises I cringe. I mean gran turismo on the pc wouldn't even be played. Not when there are true simulators out on pc. Resistance would sell horribly, it's just be a generic alien shooter and pc gamers aren't fooled. God of war, uncharted...unfortunately static background, narrow hallway third person games aren't popular at the 60 dollar price point. Most I would pay for one of those is 20 bucks otherwise I'd feel ripped off ...
what you didn't realize Gamingperson was that TES has always had a huge pc following and Bethesda has always always delivered on mod support. If you bought Skyrim on pc you knew not to worry about the UI or bugs because the modding community would change and fix it. When given the features pc gamers care about no eff's are given how the UI looks. That's why Skyrim was successful.

It's because these console gamers want to prolong the pc gaming costs too much strawman as much as possible.
a lot of these console gamers drop serious cash on a couple games and they already know that games on pc are cheaper, especially during a steam sale. Imagine the amount of butthurt that will be had when they find out pc gaming is cheaper than they realized.

At this point we can all agree that consoles in general are stifling innovation. Pc gamers like me see consoles as the slow fat kid that needs to catch up before we can move forward

There's no competition right now. If it sells 100k copies and the next highest selling game is 50k. Doesn't change the fact that it could be doing poorly.

Mw3 was more of the same in its first week breaking first week records but that was the end of that. It was followed by massive discounts across all platforms. Iirc the digital pc version was knocked down to 35 dollars.
