My jaw is on the floor after watching this.

Agility orbs that you have to chase though the city?
Thats going to be crazy fun!

I wonder if a new console announcement from either of the big three would be enough to “win” E3 for them?

I have a feeling that the next gen is closer than most of us would like to think.

You are right about the competition in the FPS genre.

I would personally love to see Rare go 3rd person with perfect Dark.

3rd person stealth / action shooter. To be more precise. With all the weapons and Gadgets that Joanna would have, I could see it sitting somewhere between the grit and realism of Splinter Cell and the over the top almost cartoonish action of Metal Gear.

Or they could make a FPS, either way is good.

I truly believe that the next generation of games consoles will be almost 100% DD.

Software developers and publishers will flock to it, as it would put an end to piracy and expensive packaging and shipping costs. This should also lower the price of games for the consumer.

The only real drawback in my eyes would be the loss of the used games market.

I’m not a big fan of having hard copy disks cluttering up my house.

I 100% agree with your comment.

But we both know it will never happen.

I don’t have a problem with in game advertisements. Modest product placement in adventure games I think will become quite normal, (Any one remember that packet of Airwaves Sam was chewing in Splinter Cell CT?).

Also full on adverts for sponsors in sports games would not feel too out of place.

As long as it does not pull me out of the experience, I’m fine with it.

Has nobody told Sony that E3 is still 3 weeks away?

These announcments would have had more impact if they were given at the event proper.

You can't win a contest before it starts.

Nah.

I'm from New Zealand.
I just hate to see the poor old Aussies get taken advantage of.

They have it bad enough as it is.

While I appreciate Microsoft trying to expand the features available on XBL, I don’t like the idea of people having to pay TWO subscriptions to get it.

It should be included in the current XBL price, or at the most a small increase to the overall subscription fee.

I like the sound of what they are doing, but it all needs to under the one subscription.

I hope Microsoft give XBL a huge shake-up soon and takes a look at how they are pricing it. ...

If we are talking Xbox exclusives then I would like to see one or two of the following.

Crimson Skies
Mechassult
Black & White 3 (Natal)
The Movies 2 (Natal optional)
Age of Empires (Natal)
PGR
Viva Piñata 3 (Natal)

And how about another crack at Sudeki? It was a pretty bare bones RPG but could be pretty solid if done right.

As well as those games covered in the article.

I want to see KOTOR 3.

Who the hell is going to make that happen? (And no, The Old Republic MMO does not count.)

5766d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It just feels like a cop-out though.

The NPC's looking the same was a problem with KOTOR as you have said. But they addressed it with Jade Empire. That game world felt rich and diverse, with interesting NPC's.

Mass Effect 2 is just feeling quite small environmentally. Look at the difference between exploring the citadel in ME1 and ME2.

That place felt huge in ME1 and I was looking forward to exploring it again in the second, but all I...

Well of course the genophage would account for the lack of Krogan children and woman I suppose.

But still no reason to not see little Turian and Asari kids running around.

It just adds to the universe, ya know?

5766d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

But Bioware needs to be careful themselves. I'm currently playing ME2 for the first time and while I love every moment of it, some things are nagging at me.

It seems that Bioware have upped the graphic at the cost of environment size, as a result ME2 feels a lot more linear than the first.

I am also noticing a distinct lack of side quests in ME2. That’s not to say there aren’t any side quests in the game, just that they seem shorter and less important. <...

To price Natal at $200 would be a dumb move by Microsoft.

In order for Natal to be a success Microsoft need to get a lot of units sold. I think they are going to sell Natal at break even or a small loss.

If Natal is a success they could make up for lost profits with an increase of console and software sales.

But I think $200 for Natal will scare most consumers off.

Interesting.

I seem to remember something a while back about an Xbox live TV channel.

MTV, Viacom and Microsoft seem very friendly all of a sudden.

Future partners perhaps?

5770d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

exactly.

Nobody's holding a gun to their head to buy/play Halo.

I like the Halo series as much as anyone but I've only played CE and H2. I will get around to playing H3 and ODST when I'm good and ready, same goes for Reach.

As a result I'm far from sick of the franchise.

5771d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

I guess Microsoft must have struck some kind of exclusive agreement with MTV to show this event hence the ban on cameras for all other press.

Even though this event has little to do with gaming, it should still be fun to watch.

This just one more small step to make to game industry appeal more to the casual and mainstream consumer.

Natal will no doubt be the centerpiece of Microsoft’s E3 offerings.

It will need to perform as advertised for it to have the kind of impact that they want.
I’m not expecting much from the software side of it, as Microsoft have already said that the first wave of games for Natal will be casual family games.

I would expect to see some game play footage from Gears of War 3 and Fable 3, as well as some single player Halo Reach.

I’m hopefu...

the guy your thinking of is Johnny Chung Lee.

And accually Microsoft hired him as part of the Natal team.
