There is nothing wrong with holding back sucky versions of "progress" that have no unusual or proprietary technology involved. Especially since the reason it was held back was that demand for it was demonstrated to be weak.
It's like Steam but the games are more expensive and it's on a closed system...so we can keep them that way. It'll be great! Honest!
So...just go get steam then?
Mechwarrior would be nice too. And Firefall.
Yeah, when I feel good about something, I always change it up and do so publicly.
I don't care. Games are games. Entertainment. You can buy them or not buy them as you please. Pretending they pose some special threat that must be dealt with by angry pseudo intellectuals who want censorship and who associate art content they dislike with the character of the artist is absolutely stupid.
Part of growing up is not expecting to never be offended or assuming that anything that offends you is evil and must be locked up, sued, or destroyed. Another part of growing up is realizing that appeasement of aggression generally begets more attacks.
It's more important to be right than to be liked even when people can't really agree on what is right and wrong. Stand up for yourself or you encourage others to try to knock you down. Penny Arcade backed down on dick-...
He made a lot of not very funny dick and ass jokes on the Giant Bomb E3 podcast (2nd night, 1st podcast) and interrupted a lot. He really came off as a rude immature ass who doesn't think before he speaks.
Well the other problem is wildcatting/gambling publishers trying to pay for 8 flops with 2 hits, who don't care about games that break even. They force a dev to pitch them with a demo that might cost $2 million to make. That's $2 million from the dev JUST TO PLAY with no profit or anything on it. Just CoDB. Then if the publishers like the pitch they demand $25 million worth of work in exchange for a promise to fund $15 million and they own the IP. Then they try to get by with paying o...
I bet that the thumbs up for dropping the DRM and region lock and daily checkin, outweigh the thumbs down by 10:1 at least.
It's a crappy racer with a fire gimmick where you overheat other racers forcing them to drive slower because overheating via your boost causes you to explode.
Not to mention they already bought the stock and can sell it or not as they wish and advertise it however they wish.
It's more the opposite for me. Xbox One does what PS4 don't.
PS4 don't (doesn't) have a required camera that must be on to play games.
PS4 don't make you check in online every 24 hours.
PS4 don't stop you from simply lending a disc to a buddy with no crazy online sign ins or rights swapping nonsense.
PS4 don't waste around 3/8 of it's hardware power on supporting an 'always up' cumberso...
I have to be both a gamer and a consumer since I buy my own games. Sony FTW this time.
Drops mic.
I thought it looked more like the cowled wanderer in the Diablo 2 cut scene movies.
Or maybe they'll add a subtitle like Shadowfall instead of a number.
I think MC was dreaming. The machine-ghost of the dead Librarian changed him so he could face the Ur-Didact. I think the change that was activated in him was that he was connected to the Domain (the Forerunner's equivalent to "The cloud" in which they communicated with one another, their AI's, and the uploaded minds of their dead.) I think he also had some memories awakened in him either from the time of Bornstellar Makes Everlasting or from the time of the fall of the prehi...
5GB of RAM to run THAT ?
lulz
Did you ever use Gaikai to stream the first level of Crysis 2 onto a netbook that Crysis 2 will not even run on? Or Onlive? Because game streaming tech is about three years old now. It even works with tablets. Using Onlive you can play any of their PC games on a tablet that supports the app. These are games that will not and can no run on the tablet hardware.
With Game Streaming you are sending controller inputs out to a server that send you back graphics and sound pretty muc...
The witness doesn't look like it should take up 5 GB of an HDD when fully installed much less need 5 GB of RAM to run. What exactly is it being used for? Whatever it is, it's not showing up on the screen shots.
And in case you think I'm defending MS, I'm kind of in the 'Xbox One sucks' camp at the moment.
Tears for Jonathon Blow? Lol! No sir, I don't think so.
Bigpappy, the reason MS blinked was because they realized that you really aren't as big a market as they had hoped and they still want to make money. If you want all digital then buy an $800 PC with at least an HD 8750 in it, and you'll be good for a while and you can go all digital with Steam and Origin and Impiuse/Gametsop Online. You can even use a 360 controller on most pC games. The discounts are nuts.
