The 360's hardware and software sales are really picking up. I actually thought the PS3 would sell better with the 40GB PS3 sku being available for the whole week. Very disappointing. COD4 threw me for a loop. I thought it would sell more on the 360 and less on the PS3 than these numbers show. I wonder how much longer the PS3 is going to outsell the 360 in EU/Other region? Even better question is how much longer before Microsoft drops the price of the 360 again?

Now with price points of $500.00 and $400.00 and Sony announcing that their losses will double in the next year in the gaming division its safe to say the PS3 is costing Sony as much if not more than HD-DVD players are costing Toshiba. It's because alot of 360 owners are former PS2 owners. I had a PS1 and PS2. I know I bought a 360 because the PS2 didnt live up to the hype of it's promised CGI-quality graphics. More than any game for the 360 past, present, or future. Halo 3 is the biggest reason many people bought the console. I didnt own Halo 1 or Halo 2 when I had my original Xbox. Wasnt really a big console FPS fan because I had a good PC.

September was squeezed between 2 blockbuster 360 titles. Bioshock and Halo 3. Of course the 360 is going to outsell the PS3 in the US and Canada. Even in the EU where the 360 has been beating the PS3 it significantly boosted that sales gap even more.

The PS3 beat the 360 for the first time in a long time in EU. That 40GB SKU and the 60GB price drop gave the PS3 a good sales spike. Nintendo is recapturing lost marketshare from the past 2 generations and trying to change the way we play games. I think we can all agree the graphics and 3rd party games are weak, but Nintendo always has the best first party games around. The fact that people are still buying PS2's and gobbling up Wii's this late into the PS2's lifespan indicates that most people still dont have HDTV's.
