Title comes off as saying that the devs would rather have more graphics memory than SSD.
While the quote comes off as saying that while SSDs are cool too have, they don't change much on our end since we keep so much in graphics memory anyway, but the end users will appreciate the quicker load times that come with them.
So exclusives do matter?
Oh boy not this again.... Don't want to do a lengthy back and forth so I'll try to address what I have to say in one post.
Link? Does your source specifically sight Sony as not having the "desire" to their vision? Or is this general speak?
From what I found:
https://www.ign.com/article...
People were saying it now as well, using the sales of top selling multiplats to downplay exclusives
Who's the chess player now lol?
Funny how things work out in the end
Do they now make money on each copy sold on those platforms???
Is Sony now ironically a 3rd Party developer???

Insomniac approached Sony with SSoD first. They were not interested.
Insomniac had to go elsewhere to make the game.
Meaning if they were first party, Sony would have nixed the idea all together. They wouldn't have had the freedom to branch out unless Sony approved of it.
C'mon people, at least accept the history as it is. There was a moment when Sony didn't trust an idea...
Some are hoping that's the case, that's for sure.
Becau$e money that'$ why
He probably sent a thank you note, but not to Sony... Atta boy Phil was most likely the recipient.
"I never made the argument that "backwards compatibility isn't a desired feature for many gamers". Not once did I use such absolute terms. I only referenced it as a quality of the Xbox One in comparison to the PS4. Has BC mattered enough overall to the console buying public when comparing the sales of Xbox One and PS4? The answer is no."
I don't understand why starchild and others like him don't understand this point. It was already proven la...
@starchild
"There's a small chance Sony could win me over and get me gaming only on the PS5 but it would require a number of positive changes on their part. One of them being full backwards compatibility."
Only a ***small*** chance? Why are you downplaying the significance of BC!!! /s -.-
@Mystogan
The links you provided actually proves foxhounds922's point.
No one is saying that they "***don't*** ***want*** to play old games" like you are saying/generalizing.
They're saying exactly what Foxhound922 said "playing old games is a nice feature but a very insignificant compared to having new, exciting exclusives"
If you want to say that is 'downplaying' it, I guess you have a ...
"But it is a ruse and there would be just more questions and more articles as to why, and then we'll have more comments saying "this again?!", so that question makes no sense."
If that happened they can always fall back to the it's a beta line and we're ironing things out. Point being if they want to be uber deceptive and further reluctant about crossplay they can.
"Even when the RL devs said they had everything ready ...
I actually don't consider XB1's launch lineup all that strong. It was sufficient, but lets put it like this-- If they have a similar lineup for the launch of Scarlet, I don't think it would be enough to convince former Xbox gamers to pick it over PS after experiencing first hand the gen Sony had. With Sony even though the initial launch maybe weak, you at least know that SM, ND, GG, etc. will deliver quality when they do release. With MS, outside of Turn 10 and maybe 343, their st...
"Because there's no reason or excuse not to now that Fortnite has it"
But they don't have to do it right? Not like there's any pressure on them to do so for an old game. They could actually get away with not doing it and not face what they did with fornite and could simply continue on with the beta fortnite "ruse."
"Why didn't RL go into this "beta" when they had everything ready to go first?"
So why are they letting Rocket League do it now?
Gonna be hard to get back those that jumped ship. MS is going to need a very very strong launch lineup so that many are tempted to get their console first at the start of the gen.
Thought you were okay with them releasing their titles on other consoles though? Seems like you're excited that they are no longer doing so.
Seems like the myth that exclusives aren't important is officially dead as well!
Edit:
Also Interesting how this comes after the announcement of the Insomniac purchase. Makes you wonder if they are feeling the heat after the big news.
