A sleeper hit is something that is predicted not to sell/do well, but in the end it exceeds expectations, hence your disagrees.

People have to buy a game that they like. No matter how great a particular game maybe, there is no game that is for EVERYONE. People have to buy what appeals to them at the end of the day. I do hope TM sells well though.

I honestly think the next CoD game will not out sell MW3's week one sales. I think MW3 is the peak. A lot of people are saying that MW2 is better.
BUT I don't think CoD is dying per se, just that it won't be breaking anymore week one records. I think CoD will always sell millions as long as the masses don't get tired of it.

And my point is that the CORE fans of those game like the previous installments better. People that have played Killzone 2 for 2+ plus years hate KZ3 and the rest of people that aren't core fans or are new to Killzone only played it until the next BIG game came out such as BF3, MW3, Skyrim, UC3 etc.
Same goes for Socom. Most of the dedicated fanbase do not like Socom 4, thus all the people that would be playing it aren't. Resistance 3 didn'...

What I hate, like you stated, is companies/developers selling out.
The articles makes a point that Battlefield 3 has 1/3 the sales that CoD has and that no other franchise has come close to that.
There are two things wrong with that though:
-Battlefield 3 sold on hype
-Battlefield 3 plays more like CoD than any other Battlefield...
