The Alien Isolation review was the final review that made me stop visiting IGN regularly. My dislike of the site had already been growing, but this one was the last straw for me. An absolute joke of a review.
IGN holds a lot of power and influence (unfortunately) on the buying habits of gamers. I could understand a 7 maybe if it wasn't his thing, but to give it a 5.9... not a 6, mind you, symbolically marking it as a poorly made game. This game probably could have sold ...
Yea, my opinion has nothing to do with anti-woman thing (i love to see strong female leads for my wife and daughter's sake). It's just that we came to love Jin after Tsushima, so it feels empty/sad not to see him again.
I am totally on board Yotei and the new protagonist as long as we revisit Jin sometime in the future. There's room for both.
Yea, I'll be really upset if they screw up Elder Scroll 6. Starfield we can chalk up as a mediocre experiment, but I've enjoyed Elder Scrolls games too much since I jumped in on Morrowind. Between Mods and VR, Skyrim has become infinitely replayable. From what I gather with Starfield, not even Mods can fix its problems.
From what I gather, the story moves at a shat turd's pace.
F-Zero's been getting a lot of love lately between this and all the NSO releases. Hopefully this is a sign that they're finally ready to tackle a new modern entry on the Switch 2!
I buy most all retro collections bc I especially dig when they package them w manuals, advertising art etc.... but my ROM collection of classic of games that have not come to collections yet is also huge. I never download stuff that is still currently being produced and sold new on the market.
I'm getting old. I'm not going to sit and wait forever to see if or if not one of my favorite classics are coming to a collection. Some will never come bc they are tied up in ...
Yea weird, my Portal wouldn't connect until I actually restarted the Portal. It's working fine now! 🔥
Yea, the Star Wars license alone is priiiiicey. Even at 1million sold, I'm sure this lost money. They assumed it would sell like hotcakes just bc it's Star Wars, but gamers are growing keen of the Ubisoft staleness.
To be fair, I've had a few friends say they're enjoying it, "it's not bad" but in no was is it a $70 game. For $70, I expect "great", not "It's not bad". I wait for $20-30 or under for "It's not bad....
@potatoseal great! Glad your region is working. Mine's still stuck in "Connecting". :\
@Octomarsho "sony toddlers", hmmmm. Says the guy who made an account less than an hour ago and has spammed 18 troll comments so far. Don't worry, I flagged your account for you. Have a nice day, man.
Yea, this thing just became a paper weight. :\
I just tried, and it woke the console up out of sleep mode just fine, but it's stuck in a neverending attempt to actually connect. I've had my Portal for a bit over a month now and have absolutely loved it... but I just found my biggest dislike of this thing.
I wouldn't used the words "Most Respected" to describe Jason Schreier, but he does accurately get a lot of inside information. At any cost.
@TheNamelessOne "It didn't show up on mine, so it's okay!"
No, that's just wrong that it shows up on anyone's, even if it doesn't show up on yours. The world doesn't revolve around you.

Yep. This game will be incredibly cheap come Black Friday.
The last time I paid full price for an Assassin's Creed game was Black Flag back in 2013, only bc that was a launch title for PS4. I learned quickly to wait until at least Black Friday after that, if not a year or 2.
Came here to say the same thing. I don't mind game suggestions, bc we're on a gaming console, but advertising Mountain Dew, McDonald's etc is crossing a line.
Ok, sorry MT19J, you're right.
"The 400 roles you're seeing in the system are part of the recent news and are not new; the roles that were impacted include mostly corporate and supporting roles and some impacts to gaming teams."
These are from the prior announced layoffs, but are only soon to take effect in these divisions. Gotcha.
"Activision Blizzard has told the EDD that 140 jobs were to be scrapped beginning October 11 at the Blizzard Entertainment studio in Irvine."
These are a new round of layoffs coming in October.
Why pay full price when we all know prices on Ubisoft games drop faster than any other AAA publisher? I'll pick it up for 20 or less, or wait and play it on PS+. I'm in no hurry.
It really seems like Ryan wanted Assassin's Creed stealth patterns and broke down when he had to actually think and react, rather than exploit poorly designed AI. IGN never had a problem giving AC's stupidly simple AI great scores.
