I did. I couldn't find any mention of Microsoft planning to pull COD mobile and Candy Crash from the Android Play Store.

How will this acquisition have an impact on Googles Android store revenue?

And how are MS trying to diminish their store revenue today? Microsoft even sell devices that run Android and have the Play Store as their marketplace…

SteamDeck + Switch.

Xbox and PS games are playable on SD.

You despise them because of a court case? Feels like an overreaction.

If it's a race, they've already won it. Stadia is gone and XCloud is sitting at 70% of the market share.

"If Microsoft Deal Falls Through"

He's only sticking around if the deal doesn't get finalized.

Please be true. I need more TEW & Shinji Mikami horror games.

Yes, because Microsoft are the only company in the world that makes layoffs /s

GamePass has nothing to do with HoloLens, Surface hardware or GitHub...

Not surprising at all since they announced this last month, but that doesn't make it suck any less for those who lost their jobs. Hopefully those affected all find new roles without too much turmoil.

This should be a surprise to no one, but it's not like developers who put their games in GP don't get reimbursed by other means.

Oops, somebody didn't read the article.

This isn't a "YoY increase". It's market share, so we know they had 60-70% of the streaming market.

“In 2022, Microsoft took the lead with 60-70% of total MAUs”

From 20-30% up to 60-70%? That’s some crazy growth. Probably thanks to Fortnite.

Well that was certainly a surprise. The shadow drops are on fire lately.

The Direct overall wasn't amazing, but this plus the gameboy games were nice surprises.

@BinaryCode
"Nobody in their right mind wants to buy and Xbox"
Tens of millions of people disagree.

"As for COD, why should anyone have to buy another console to play a 3RD PARTY GAME. It stinks."
👀👀 Nobody tell him about the deals Sony makes.

"Sony should just do their own FPS."
They did, they had Killzone, they chose to kill it (no pun intended)

@Nyxus If you go to one Ford dealership and buy 20 cars, and I go to 20 Ford dealerships and buy 1 car - we both have 20 Ford cars at the end of the day.

@Shinoff No one involved 'needs' an acquisition. But I guess they want it and deem it a worthwhile way to spend their money 🤷

Sony didn't need Bungie either. Still bought them.

@jznrpg None of the big 3 will/would get to trillion-dollar market caps based on gaming. There's a reason why Sony and Nintendo are nowhere near that.

@Outside "Facebook acquiring VR doesn't affect anything"

So why were the FTC blocking it and going to court over it?

@Christopher We are indeed the leaders today, but for how long?

Tencent are moving to be a, if not the, dominant force in international gaming though, regardless of restrictions within China. Just look at their stake in Epic for example, Epic at this point have a very strong grip on both game engines and online services, and by proxy, Tencent too.

Control the middleware, you control the industry.
