Sony has 12 games on Steam, 6 games on Epic Games Store, 1 game on Xbox & 2 games on GamePass.
Unless Sony has acquired Valve, Epic and Microsoft, they are functioning as a 3rd party publisher.

Not really comparable, your purchasing decision will likely be driven by what platform you own. One works on PC and not on PS5, the other works on PS5 only.
Microsoft are already a 3rd party publisher, so are Sony.
Microsoft has games on Steam, Switch, PS.

Microsoft aren't the only console manufacturer selling third party. PlayStation has games on Steam and GamePass.
This plus the plays with Nintendo and Steam etc. are very smart moves by Microsoft. Their tactic is clearly just to get everyone on board, isolate Sony and then paint them as against it just because of the competition.
As I said many moons ago, this deal is 100% going through with concessions.

1 indie game out of 500+ games isn't enough to declare it an 8K box.

There’s 1 game running at 720p too, so by that logic above, PS5 is a 720p box.
8K gaming only truly exists on PC today, and even then it’ll be expensive and include visual sacrifices. PS5 and XSX have no chance.

These current gen consoles are barely doing 4K native never mind 8k. But if you want to list me the huge list of 8K PS5 games, I’ll wait.
Also it’s hard to say PS5 has next gen audio when it still does not support Atmos.
Slightly different though. You have a choice of which movie theater you go to, and movie companies have a choice in which theaters, stores and streaming services they sell their movies to.
Developers and publishers don’t really have a choice - the majority have to be multiplat and you MUST be in the Sony and MS platform stores. There are no other stores or the ability to opt out on those platforms.
It’s effectively a monopoly on store fronts.
It is indeed their store and services - but regulatory bodies and consumer fair trade bodies exist for a reason.
By your logic above, the Activision acquisition should go through no scrutiny either - it’s just business after all and it’s up to Microsoft how they spend their money.
Heck, why don’t Sony and MS just charge 50%? 75%? Developers can’t really afford to skip on their platforms, and there are no third party stores.

Nobody said it was dead, they said the Switch has taken over Japan.
And that is still true… the 6 year old Switch is still outselling the PS5 nearly 2:1, and the PS5 hasn’t even managed 10% of the total Switch sales in 2.5 years.
The numbers are up, yes, but let’s not pretend the Switch isn’t destroying everyone in Japan and dominating the region.
I kinda expect that to be the case - Nintendo doesn’t invest much in online.
I don’t think we’ll see a new console for a while though, not while the Switch is still selling like hot cakes.

But it’s just one game, not that big of a deal. Plenty of other games look and run fine on PS5.
