"They better hope this sells well on PC as MS has banned it's sale on what was Bethesda's biggest revenue maker in the console market."
Why do they have to hope that? That doesn't appear to be a bar/metric that Microsoft has set for them or the game.
Take your time with the showcase and the game, no need to rush. Masterpieces take time.
"It was strange it didn't appear on the latest show of Microsoft...."
They specifically stated beforehand that it would not be in the show because it will have its own, longer, dedicated show.
"How is this possible for a game coming in the first half of 2023."
You mean game development isn't known for burning down the clock, day 1 patches, and crunch towards the end of development? Never 🤯. I thought...
Now that's a good line-up. Very surprised to see HFW in there after only 12 months.
I wonder if that's a trend we'll see consistently - 1st party games coming to the service after 12 months, if so, I may be more interested in upgrading tier.
“Given the volume of factors that have yet to come into play, it would be short-sighted — and dare I say — a little silly, to rule out Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass strategy at present. “
I’m inclined to agree. It’s early days for game subscriptions and cloud streaming - but they likely will take over.
Remember when subscribing to stream tv shows/movies and music felt foreign and like it wouldn’t catch on? Yeah well, look where we are now.
From a business sense, as the IP owner, yes. But I'm actually not sure I'd say FROM are the best company to revive Tenchu.
I would love to see a remake though!
If MS are fine with trading some game sales revenue for subscription dollars, it's fine - and future proofing, subscriptions are the future and can be more lucrative in the longer term.
GP is definitely 'smarter' for consumers.
Yep. 2023 has an insane lineup already - and there will be drops that we don’t even know about yet.
Clearly GP. The day 1 games make it head and shoulders above the competition.
Also, I wouldn’t even begin to compare Apple Arcade to the other 3.
PSNow no longer exists as a service.
The modding community once again coming to save the day :P
“Already have a PC buddy”
Then you are good to go and have nothing to worry about.
“I said that I wonder if they're misleading....as they have in the past.”
Yes I’m sure it’s coming to PS at the same time that Spider-Man and God of War come to Xbox.
“ Sales matter.”
Wrong. Revenue matters. No one cares if the dollars come from game sales or a subscription. A dollar is a dollar.
Really depends on the tier.
Essentials is… essential. Needed for online and even if you don’t play online much like me, you still need it for cloud saves (why Sony… why?)
For extra and premium, the content isn’t really there yet. Mostly old games, no big day 1 games, PS3 games still streamed + big hitters like MGS4 missing.
“Its game sales will be cannibalized by gamepass”
So? GamePass isn’t free.
“I really can't wait to hear about the games sales. ”
Why does that matter? Obviously it’s likely that most people will play it via GP - that doesn’t mean the game isn’t good or successful.
“I wonder if they intend to release these games on playstation after release on Xbox.”
🥱🥱 This again, seriously? This...
GTA4 was underrated for its time. It had its flaws with the constant forcing of the social system on you, and the performance was pretty awful (and the PC port even worse).
But the gameplay and story are solid - and the DLCs were great (remember back when R* made Single-player DLC?).
I’d love to see a remake/remaster.
So here’s how this is gonna go:
- Up until launch we’ll continue to hear fake concern about Starfield
- Starfield will launch and be good
- The narrative will shift to how “the game was in development before Microsoft acquired them” and “they stole the game from PS”
Guarantee it.
Anyway, the main thing is, SF is going to be huge and the hype behind it is insane. Can’t wait for ES in space.
I said “new games”, the COD games we got on PS+ were old.
“As for day one games, no publisher with any kind of established IP puts their games on these services.”
Microsoft does, and they will do the same with COD when this acquisition closes.
I'm about 9 episodes into this and it's great. They've been recording it for long, long time, pre Kickstarter and Rhombus.
Of course, they would consider adding their new games to subscription services, even today - but the price would be so astronomically high for Sony/Microsoft that it would never happen. Same situation as Take2 etc.
But ultimately, this speculation has no bearing on whether this acquisition should go through or not.
If not kidding, you must be extremely delusional lol, 2025.
Got a good laugh out of this one though, so thanks.
