5-7 or 10-13 second would be totally playable. The game is good enough that people would put up with it. Most PC gamers have some form of SSD nowadays, SSD's have become cheaper and more mainstream (just not high speed NVMe's etc).
There's also other things you can do on PC to alleviate some of the rift load times, e.g. PC's have substantially more memory available than consoles, so you can preload more / keep more things in memo...
I do see it. Sony are a corporation, this is another avenue of potential revenue for them, and judging by past sales of their games on Steam - a LOT of revenue.
I don't see bringing them to PC as a bad thing though, the more the merrier, and it'll just give more $$$ for Sony to invest in games.
This idea that Ratchet can only run on PS5 is laughable, sorry, but it is. Clearly it would be able to run on a PC or Xbox Series easily with very minor ch...
How is bringing games to PC a bad thing? The more who get to experience great PS games, the better IMO. This will also help generate more $$$ for Sony to invest in more or better/bigger games. It's a win win.
I don't need to justify my purchase, and other gamers being left out doesn't really do anything for me. The more the merrier.
This basically confirms that we are going to see more, if not all, PS exclusives on PC - and likely day 1.
Great news for gamers!
Looks cool - but more like a UE4 game - I can't wait for ES6 though!
Looks like they did a really great job here on all platforms, even the Series S!
Yep not a surprise anymore, many games have had this issue.
Sony needs to fix this.
Sony should refund, not Bethesda - this is on Sony.
Third party games don't have a contract that requires a PS5/XSX upgrade unless they have some form of exclusivity deal with the platform holder - which DOOM did not.
Most people care about keeping their game progress.
Except many other games have had the same problems...
This is 100% on Sony for:
1. Not providing an OS level save game migration system like Xbox does
2. Still charging $$$ for cloud saves
It's shipping with Halo Infinite, and is called Halo Infinite MP - it's part of the game.
But really, why would you care if they review with the MP? What difference does it make to you?
Why should they not review MP?
If MP is part of the game, they should review it. We deserve a picture of the game all-up, not with half of it missing.
Probably true, big franchises typically don't get ruined by bad entries (if Infinite is bad).
It’s a shooter game - PC is the best place to play.
It won’t have twice the players if it’s a cross play enabled game… it’ll be the smallest player pool.
Also since when was PS+ cheaper? I pay $60/yr for both.
Have they even spoken about what they’re doing with DualSense? Haven’t seen any news.
Pretty weak month (again).
Waiting on everyone jumping in and commenting that buying studios and throwing your money around is wrong...
but in all seriousness - congrats to the HM guys - this is well deserved and a huge step for them!
I wouldn't bet on that. Sony are a corporation, they need to make money - they likely don't care if that money comes from PC vs PS5 - and they've already tested the waters and seen that:
1. Their games sell well on PC/Steam
2. Their games being on Steam have not really impacted sales of PS5 hardware or software
So why not?
