i would say open world games in general. with the latest technology they have become much bigger in size and content than ever before. just look at the latest zelda, assassin's, and of course, red dead 2.
"...THIS generation..."
i hope so so i can sell mine and buy it again and use the other $30 to buy the season pass.
@Lucas...well i bought the game of the year edition for just cause 3 about a year or so later and didn't experience ANY of the problems you mentioned. maybe it was patched during that time? i bought 4 and so far i'm loving it. the only thing i find a little creepy looking is the new character models but that's only during the cut scenes and doesn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the game....an 8 so far from me and could get higher as i continue to play the game.
i wouldn't count that as reasons seeing as how paid online play and subscriptions (especially on pc), has been going for several console generations which didn't hinder single player games...
if you look at the biggest gripe for ANY game within the last year or two it's been "why the need for microtransactions and/or loot boxes?".... more and more gamers are running away from it and developers and publishers are taking notice.
sidenote- apparently there is a 2gb day 1 patch. wonder what the patch is🤔
...because people are growing broke with all the microtransactions that multiplayer games now carry?🤔
i have 2.... E.T. atari 2600....i don't think anyone has ever finished that game. not because they couldn't, but because they didn't want to....i tried to make sense of what to do but eventually you're better off using the cartridge to play fetch with a dog....
the 2nd.... fallout 3...yes 3.... i just hate games that requires a lot of time to do the most mundane things. talk to this person or that person to get info to go here and there but you have to wait ...
...and another reason why i still tend to buy physical discs. ...mom & pop shop near my job got it today and it's sitting in my car waiting til i get off work. 😋
for me it would have to be Super Metroid. that game managed to keep me engaged level after level into the wee hours of the morning. very few games have managed to do that for me since then.
Pong...the one with it's own console. not only was it a form of electronic tennis but it had a variation of the same game that YOU could switch....
That gave me a taste as it was owned by my downstairs neighbors...but the one that hooked me a year later and reeled me in for good was the atari 2600 and it's slew of included games in a single cartridge called Combat....tanks, planes, etc. just wow....little did i know that something called the NES was on the horizon a...
i don't think anyone is looking forward to another metal gear game without kojima behind it.
@drPepper....if that were true i would have bought one a year ago...still waiting for someone to hack it well enough to put emulators and roms into it so it will become the ultimate portable machine...at least for me.
don't they mean e3 2019??🤔 seeing as how microsoft are the only ones making a presentation next year they have more at stake since all eyes will be on them.
difference being that original consoles are hard to come by. I'm not talking about hunting for them on ebay and mom & pop shops either. the market for these retro consoles is that they are easily accessible. same for pc emulators, if you really wanted those games you can obtain them for free with a few clicks but your average joe isn't going to do that; again, due to accessibility.
as opposed to PlayStation plus where you don't? 🙄
same here, i don't like that they removed the cancel feature from the console. but at least it's a simple feature that can be turned off online as oppose to calling in and going through automated menus and being placed on hold like the old days. ...however, i may extend my membership another month or 2 just to give read dead online a try if it proves to be worth it.
🙄
if you don't mind going digital, and if you have an xbox. the xbox store black friday deal has all those games for less than amazon right now... i think the legacy collections for BOTH mega mans are going for $15 - $17 .... i haven't played mega man since the snes days so i may kump on that deal.
wow, this is the absolute definition of nitpicking. sure, there are some differences but to stop and look if you're shadow in a game and deem it a bad game because of it
(among other little things) is simply idiotic....
I'm surprised he didn't talk about the graphical popups when flying through some trees. or the various animals that get stuck (sometimes upside down) on fences and things.... all minor glitches, (that can be funny moments)....regardless I...
