Let me guess, this is in light of the whole #Metoo thing?
I'm not saying nothing happened, but it seems everyone and her mom is suddenly victim of sexual harassment or unwanted advances. If legitimate inappropriate actions have been made towards you and your employer neglected it, bring it to the police, don't wait years afterwards and post it on social media.
What I do is wait a full year. That way the price is halved or even less if you catch it on a sale, most bugs and balance issues have been ironed out and all DLC will have been released (often coupled in a Complete Edition).
I do it for every game though except for a handful of games from devs that I know will deliver. Abit hard at first to ignore all the great titles for a year, but I strongly recommend trying it.
[Edit] It's different for MP game...
Nier actually becomes better by completing multiple endings, they stack into a complete and single storyline.
Alright so, what actions should gamers take? It's either pay less/wait for sale and minimize the influx of money to the industry, or pay more and have larger businesses take advantage of you.
Yeah I think it's bs. No industry grows so large in such a short amount of time if it isn't profitable, business people aren't stupid, they go where the gravy flows. If that money lands into the pockets of CEOs instead of the devs then thats a problem on their end, customers shouldn't be penalized for that.
Sure the competition is steep as ever and it's hard to stand out, but the amount of income has increased just aswell with the hundreds of millions of playe...
Good to see the cyberpunk theme becoming more prevalent lately
I wonder if you'll be able to draw free hand too, though im guessing that would raise issues with animating things

It's not necessarily the tweets being offensive, it's the fact that a AAA dev like Bioware is seemingly perfectly fine with having that racist clown on board. Constantly trashing your white (male) audience, which used to be a large number, is bad marketing to say the least.
There shouldn't be a place for people that cuss out their own audience based on race, period.
Yeah, I forgot about him but now that he's reared his head again, I hope it's the last we'll ever see from him.
Good thing results are what counts and keeps you afloat in game development, and with the mentality that people like him have, results are well below average.
Troubled developers more like.. Atleast own up to the fact you've messed up development and learn from it but nope, it's everyone's fault but mine. Absolute 0 self reflection.
This Manveer clown needs to be booted from the industry aswell, there should be no place for blatant racism.

[edit] On a serious note, I think it's refreshing. Playing as a rebel against the big obvious evil empire again wouldn't interest me in the slightest.
Yeah, now I know I wasn't being paranoid noticing that things seemed off in recent multiplayer titles.
It feels to me like there's an increasingly large rupture between gamers and AAA developers and stuff like this has made me awfully cautious towards new releases, even single player ones.
I think from now on I'll be judging each games value based on what is available from launch, microtransactions and lootbox rewards NOT included, aswell as wait a g...
You have to admit there is something comical about people buying into the same snake oil marketing all over again.
I bet a large percentage are the exact same people that complained about the first game aswell
I'd imagine they prefer multiplayer due to it generally having more longevity, which in turn they can use to squeeze out more cash from people through MTs over a longer span of time, all on top of the original $65 price tag.
Yeah I'm not buying the ''It's not gambling if you get something in return''. Everyone buys lootboxes with the intent to get a select few things, mostly the rarest, like going for the jackpot.
Ending up with standard loot is akin to winning $10 back on your $50 that you threw into the slot machine, yeah you got something back, but it's neither what you want nor was it equal to the investment.
Loot boxes simply shouldn't have the ...
Lootboxes themselves are fine, it's allowing people to pay for them that is bad.
Randomly generated loot has been in gaming for ages, from the old Diablo games to Borderlands to many others, it's a viable gameplay mechanic albeit very addicting. Now however people are literally gambling with their money, feeding developers' already poor ideas about this being a fun and profitable thing to do, while it hurts people in more than one way.
They could probably defend it by saying that no-one is forced to buy those things, and therefore the responsibility doesn't rest on them (how many mobile games have similar gambling mechanics). But it's a dirty trick, playing on people's lack of self control to boost your profit. Very sad that AAA games have eagerly implemented these things.
The developers usually lap that up with ''Yeah but not everyone has the time to play that much and earn it''
Why anyone in their right mind would first buy a game full price, and then go on to buy your way through the unlocks, effectively paying extra money to play less in the end, is well beyond me.
There's something to be said about impatience, but same as with the battlefield shortcut packs, you'd be paying to unlock gear that acts as on...
I really liked the engineering puzzles, and the fact that you are an engineer first and a necromorph slayer second.
One of my favourite horror series, sad to see Visceral gone.
