Here is my question for you. Say the roster is 20 characters. The game launched free with 3 characters or pay the full $60 for 20 characters...
Say I decide to go the F2P route and buy 4 more character at $4.99 a piece (seems like the average rate). So now after purchasing the 4 extra characters I have a total of 7 characters.
...So I decide I really like this game and want it all. So I have two options
(A) buy the full game ($60) USD and eat the $20 ...
Exactly and their model is superior. Paying to unlock characters is BS, which MS borrowed a page from Crapcom.
Tekken coin system work (granted it takes alot of giftpoints). If you want to pay to take short cuts i.e. exp boosters thats fine (IMHO) as long as the game is free to play.
You do realize that the kickstarter was to create a workable demo to pitch to publishers/investors.
It's not an absolute possibility that the game release if no one backs up the project further (talking hundreds of thousands). They we are $#%@% out of luck.
I gave money to the kick starter as well; however, my wife (who has a legal background) noticed there was clauses about some of the promises pitched.

The US was Xbox territory because of marketing and first to market by a year.
Think about it this way: 1 buy and xbox and 3-5 games. A year later PS3 launches with 80% of the same games. I would buy one, but all my friends have xboxes already (Red Ring is still mostly unheard of by the masses).
Present - Both systems launch within a few weeks of each other. Both don't offer backwards compatibility, both have COD yet...Only one is cheaper.

I recommended you look at their sales figures and compare them with their competition for a history lesson.

1) Dualshocks stick position is archaic - Opinion based, I can say the rumble feature is archaic. I could also argue that the PS controller has more functionality than Xbones (speaker gyroscope, light bar). Nintendo on the other hand does have have a good controller, but its over 100$ to replace and you can only pair 1 gamepad with a wiiu console.

This example is only counting the initial buyer + 9 other game shares X 10 games.
Now multiply that by 20 games, and that $10,800. Now imagine other groups of 10 people doing the same thing...

Ben was right in a sense . It was a "reversal". However, he is technically wrong since the xbox1 hasn't launched yet.
Since "firing" Don Matrik they (MS corporate) have been reversing everything. At this rate, the name of the console might even be rebranded ie Xbox 720, Xbox infinity, etc.
