Rather than go into how kinect could deal with the lack of precision in a driving simulator, you bring up a totally different topic (MOVE).

Would kinect be fun for a racing game? Yes, but if it is going to be more than a gimmick for 7 yr olds, it needs to be precise in handling/speed/breaking.

How can it do that?

Why release it? Its not actually a game. And I find it very hard to believe that "hanging out" with Milo could be fun for more than a couple of hours, even with a younger child.

Kids know what video games are, they want to play and do something, even if its stupid to us "hardcore" gamers. Kids will have fun with kinect, just not a Milo game.

Stupid article. Kinect has sports games. I get it. They may even be better than wii sports. Yay.

AAA status has nothing to do with ratings/popularity, but about how much money and production went into the game

No. They won't. Give me a controller.

I think you are getting disagrees for basically saying you are a casual gamer. But wait, you're on N4G. You have submitted stories...

=/= casual gamer

And what games are you interested in?

Define "gamers" and what are their ages...

Proof would be nice

Well the only way MS would do this is if Kinect was a HUGE success. I will not be buying it. Unless they blow me away with some non casual/shovel ware games

Considering what direction MS is heading with Kinect (casuals), one could probably say it wasn't a huge disappointment. But to us core gamers, definitely.

For us, MS gets a C - solely for HR, Gears, Fable 3, and the crysis game.

For the media and casual gamer, I could see MS getting a B. It really depends on how you thought of Kinect. Personally, I thought it was garbage.

At worst, it would slow down the gaming industry, but destroy it, no. Look at Nintendo now, around 5 years after introducing motion tech, they are coming back with games for us core players.

If both Sony and MS went this route, would it be a boring 5 years? Yes, but eventually it would come back.

But this is worst case, don't think this will happen.

@BeaArthur

What happens next year, then Microsoft comes to e3 and doesn't have any core games to show off? This could be the last good Halo and Gears. I hate COD. Now what do I play on my 360? I actually hope Kinect does not do extremely so that they focus more attention on what core gamers want, games.

My room will be Kinect ready when they show me a non family oriented game. Fair?

Wish they had show anything of The Last Guardian.

I know many Sony fans rejoiced when Verses wasn't announced at the MS conference, but since it wasn't mentioned anywhere leads me to believe that there is a chance that it still could go multiplat.

I felt that SE was basically a no-show at this e3.

I want a good JRPG on any console so bad. WRPGs are enjoyable, but I love a good story and a turned based system. Eternal Sonata was epic...

I don't think that the 3DS means the end of the PSP or anything of the sort. 3DS showed really well today and has a great amount of games coming to it. But the PSP also has a good amount coming to it too.

3D has not proven itself, YET. Maybe it will, maybe it wont. But the PSP wont go down without a fight (although I feel Sony should discontinue PSP Go).

Will the 3DS outsell the PSP, almost definitely, but in the same vein, would the handheld market ben...

If there are no new hardware problems, then I think the 360 became as good as it can. I will have no problems with their hardware. Whats needed IMO is for at least one Kinect game that will appeal to us core gamers. It doesn't need to be God's gift to gamers, but MS should have shown that they are trying to keep us involved.

We think they dominate because they didn't forget about us gamers. Same with Nintendo, they brought back games we want to play. We all hated MS's conference because they either forgot about us, or just told us to fuck off.

Sony's conference was great, the problem was we expected the impossible. Especially going after Nintendo's shocker e3. Nintendo did what gamers want - games, games, games. Sony had games but also focused on other aspects of their products.

I feel like new IPs/unknown game announcements were missing. Almost every new game announced (outside of motion control games) was a sequel or we already new about it.

I love RPGs, and would have liked to see a console RPG or two (seems like the DS gets all the good ones now a days).

And I didn't like the casual/motion control fad thats going on (on either PS3 or 360) but casuals do have money.

5739d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

For the casuals, maybe. But just because Kinect has a low price doesn't mean the hardcore gamers should jump on it. At least until they show a game that we actually want to play.

5739d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I think MS conference was disappointing, not because of the games they showed, but more about that this e3 shows the direction they are going. Away from developing games for the 360.

They are set for the near future, but what about after that. And that is where the disappoint is for the "core" gamer.
