I was close...a couple of days ago I posted the next system should be called Xbox 510 because they nickle and dime you to death. I wasn't too far off :)

While we have all seen numbers that say lifetime sale totals for each console it is strange that when good games come out they are pretty even and/or led by PS3 in sales quite often.

Sony's new PS3 is technically an entirely new model so it's not a price drop for them unless you talk about the existing models. Microsoft is dropping price on the same model that has been on shelves for a long time. When a customer walks into the store and looks at the new slim PS3 box they will be looking at something new. Everybody has seen the 360 box in stores already...the thrill is gone. Is a lower price going to make a difference for the 360? Hasn't it been 199 for years now? Gr...
I notice some posters question how he could make the statement about how this could never be done on 360 because they say he hasn't worked on it.
But developers know how to make games. I'm quite sure they know what is possible on PC, 360, wherever. Plus they have 3rd parties come in to study from them and what do you honestly think they are coming for the donuts? I went from the 60 at launch to the first batch of 80's and today I got the slim. It's cool that people enjoy the extra features the older models have, but I never used any of them. I never played any PS2 games on either the 60 or the 4 USB 80, never used the card reader, and the same goes for all the other Swiss Army features it had. Basically I only play PS3 games or watch blu-rays on the PS3 so for me the slim is better. I will admit it's obviously not the overall quality piece the oth...

I can believe it. I'm sure they will offer obscene bundle deals again. Last year I remember at one store they had a deal of 4 pack in games (one of those being the full Guitar Hero game w/guitar) all for the regular console price.
The characters look great while they are talking and if they had made the Mobile Suits look like the anime also it would have been much better.

Not to be a d.ck or nothing, but they should have just come out and said Halo or Gears or whatever game they cream over/are referring to.
Microsoft said back then that they figured Sony would counter with a price drop any day. It didn't happen until Sony followed their own timetable schedule
He is a follower plain and simple. Whatever his friends do he will do also. He said so in the article. So even if MS releases another console that has even worse problems he will join the pity party as usual and pretend to be righteous.

I didn't stick around long enough to wait on 3rd systems reliablity because once I got that one I quickly traded it in.
I don't believe 54% either...I think it's higher because some people with broken systems don't want to tell the truth since they have spent a lot of money on it. It's like they are too poor or dumb to cut losses right there, and too ashamed to admit the troubles they pay a lot to h...
It's unquestionably the worst from an overall build quality/reliability standpoint, but it's still playing modern games when it's not broken so it's definetely not the worst overall.
Go look at IGN, 1UP, GAMEPRO, etc.
All the front pages for every site are ALL Microsoft news in one way or another. Obviously Microsoft has put the word out to all it's media partners not to let a single word of Sony be heard now.
