Well actually when I played MGS4 I thought this is how next-gen should be. With all the tech the industry has now there isn't any excuse why these games don't rival movies in terms of story progression and presentation. Having constant action in the games now actually dumbs down the plot in my opinion. How can you take a game seriously when every 2 minutes it's balls out action. Sony has the room on the bluray disc to use a LOT more motion capture animations than what can fill a DVD. That's another reason why it stands out.
And nothing is worse than pre-ordering and finding out you don't get it.
Part of me wants to be offended because it's obvious that this update was because Sony must think some people are so stupid they can't figure out where to go for the store or while in the store.
Also I do prefer the sparkle on the theme now, in 1080p it almost looks like a cross between champagne bubbles and diamonds. It's dynamic and I don't see a reason to switch to another theme now. It's classy.
They use the best motion capture tech and more often, but other companies use the same stuff when they have the budget.

One is free and therefore all owners of the system are able to play the games they buy online with no lag. That's enough right there in my opinion. The other is fee based. It's like...do you go to the movie for the movie or the popcorn? It's funny because you never see any articles that compare online performance between the 2. It's always articles trying to justify the charge for one or 2 non-gaming feature...
Gameplay performance is identical in my opinion.
The slim does take longer to install games to HDD.
But it also seemed faster to download then from PSN.
