That's a modern conviction, the first three campagins of Halo were absolutely amazing. I played Bungie's Halo just for the single player.
Just because 70% of players have the Phalanx trophy doesn't mean they stopped playing because of him.
Maybe a lot of players just tried the game and dropped it because they didn't like it, or they found it was too frustrating. There are certainly a fair amount of people that dropped the game because of that boss, but it's not that much: if you can go through the first area to access Phalanx you should be able to beat him.
Have you ever heard the expression "this is the demon's souls of *random genre* games"? No, you probably heard Dark Souls.
There are several reasons why Dark Souls influenced the industry more than Demon's Souls, and it's a matter of some mechanics, polishment and art direction in general.
Uncharted 2, for example, was wasy more influential for action adventures than the first chapter, but it didn't bring much new to the table, i...
Nope. A lot of mechanics that generated the soulslike genre were introduced in Dark Souls. Toothygrin here already said that.
Demon's Souls was an incredibly innovative game but Dark Souls cemented and perfected the formula, making it so strong to create a whole new genre of videogames.
Yes, the uncut shot style was cool and helped the narrative a lot. That's probably one of the most innovative aspects of the game, but it doesn't affect gameplay.
I'm not sure it was the first game to do it, but it surely gave it an original flavor.
MKX is pretty underwhelming, it's such an old game they should've included the XL version with all DLCs. I'm not going to buy DLCs for a dead fighting game.
I was hoping for Alan Wake Remastered since it comes out on the same day but I was being way too optimistic.
The combat is great, and I absolutely agree it's a great game overall.
I just think "The best game of all time" should be a title reserved for the most important game of the industry... and I don't think God of War is such. It's just an awesome piece of entertainment, and arguably a piece of art too.
I'm in the minority, I know, but I don't think God of War can be considered one of the best games of all time, let alone the very best. It's a very good game with some exceptional script and solid gameplay, but it was essentially just a collection of all the most successful modern videogame tropes, without really innovating anything on its own.
It was one of the best videogames on PS4, that's for sure, but of all time there are a lot of better choices in my ...
I have to agree, the first one was less polished and had technical issues, but it had a way better horror vibe.
The second one is an action game, it was kind of fun but the horror almost disappeared.
Not really. It's just an FPS or resolution boost, plus the ability to play on ultrawide.
The PS5 can do leaps and bounds better than this...
I think the game was good overall but I disliked characters and story (wants to be edgy all the time but ends up just being stupid), the structure was original but it needed more content.
After finishing the story in 16 hours I have no plan of putting this up again. 4 areas are not enough, way too redundant.
I would rate it 7.5, maybe 8, just for the concept.
You definitely chose the worst example ever. LOL
Persona 5 was loved by almost everyone, even JRPG haters, you are in a millesimal minority.
Cringe
@TheDoomedGuy
Well... no. It actually should be reflected on the score. That's the point of having a score.
The score indicates how much the critic liked the game, it's not a mathematical approach to the objective analysis of the game. If the critic didn't like the game but still gives it an 8... wouldn't it be hypocritical?
Imagine having a divisive game with 95 metacritic because "it shouldn't be reflected on ...
You guys should pay less attention to scores, the review is not THAT negative. 6.5 is a fair score if they didn't find anything special in the game.
@CantThink
It's a completely different genre and the review is from a different reviewer, plus, their Fallout 76 is not utterly negative too. Why can't people accept reviews are not an objective analysis but just a personal opinion?
How is 6.5 "terrible"? It means average, not terrible. It's just an opinion.
It can't be released on PC Game Pass because the game has not been published on the Microsoft store. Deathloop is currently available on Steam and Bethesda.net, but it's not on the Xbox launcher, therefore it can't be on Game Pass either.
It's probably due to the exclusivity contract with Sony.
299€ with the OLED sitting at 349€ is not appealing at all.
Hopefully, the street price will decrease to around 250€.
I didn't notice that. Those are some pretty impressive visuals, a good demonstration of what the PS5 can do without constraints.
Deathloop was ok but Returnal is a great game, still my GOTY at the moment.
