Yea, it's interesting. It just seems like you're not really in control of whats going on on-screen. It sorta plays itself. I liked the "This is Sparta" achievement part though, lol.

Ya know, MS is really good with marketing, because I got some friends who think the kinect's voice control is new. It's not. From what I've seen and tried myself, it really can't even understand someone speaking a sentence--just certain words. Granted that's all software, which is my point. It's software!
Phones and computers have been doing kinect's level of voice control for many years, and modern phones and pc's understand complete sentences...

Honestly, I think this is a great idea. Only thing is, you don't need a cam as expensive as Kinect for this to work. A basic cam like the 360 vision camera or ps eye could work. and a mic would work for the voice control stuff. Unless a game is doing something like full body tracking while using a controller (which makes no sense to me). it's not that hard to have a basic cam find something to track.
I don't think Eyetoy failed because it was bad, at that time. I think Sony just seem to drop the ball when it comes to marketing, which MS is very good at, and has money to throw behind.
I'm willing to bet that if MS didn't back Kinect with the marketing and promotion (especially Oprah, whom I really can't see owning a 360 lol), it would probably only fare a little better than the eyetoy and ps eye.
I don't know about the others sites, but Kotaku doesn't really give numbered or alphabetical scores if I can remember. They usually list the good and bad points of what they review, explaining each while also talking about what is being reviewed in general.
One of my bruhs got a Kinect at launch. He swung by the house to flaunt it in front of my face....On the hardware side, Kinect is well built. Its really not too shabby. +1 to MS in that respect.
Now as for software it's a mixed bag. There is some inconsistency when it comes to voice control and gesture control in some parts of the kinect experience with the 360, and some places where it would seem logical to have kinect integration, it completely lacks.

You know what's funny though people? Almost everybody says one reason why the psp isn't as successful as the ds is because most games for it are full on console game ports and it's like a ps2 in your pocket. Oddly enough most of the 3DS games I've seen announced are pretty much console ports and full-fledge console like games.

IMO, kinect isn't innovative....at the moment. When the hardware inside the camera is improved and software get even more refined, then it may possibly be. A Kinect 2 or Kinect+ perhaps?

If sony could just make a simplified in-game xmb with ONLY the icons that actually work in-game, it would be A LOT better. A party built-in party system would be nice too. It would be really awesome if other aspects of the xmb were like the updated photo selection which has a grid style. Especially the music section.

Dude, did you read the article?? It's just saying that uncharted 2 is a great game that's also happens the bridge the gap between hardcore and mainstream because of it's movie-like appeal, and if microsoft would ever have a game near it's quality on 360.
This is old news. Like more than a month old news. He said this back at TGS or whatever it was when weather was announced. Nothing can ever be perfect, but I do admire is ambition for perfection. I ready to play some GT5!!
Well, from all the many videos of I've seen of people who have the game early, the AI is MUCH improved from previous GTs. They definitely do not always stick to their line in this one, and I've seen plenty of videos where they are aggressive and make mistakes. Not defending the game, just stating that what I've seen of the FINAL game, the AI is definitely improved.
