Next xbox will be a PC.
And PS5 (and the new PS5 handheld) will be supported for 2-3 years after that. So maybe 2-3 years after that, devs might maybe start skipping switch 2 due to lack of power.
Xbox maybe 2 or 3 years after they release on Switch 2 when they can collect some game pass money cause no one on Xbox will be buying it. We see what happened with FF16.
Yes it sucks that game prices are going up. But if paying more for games keeps the industry alive and stops companies from consolidating and seeking a buy out, then $80 is a price I'm okay with.
I mean this in a general sense, there is zero chance of me paying 80$ for outer worlds 2. But I will pay it for GTA VI.
Let the corporate drones keep their Windows. Let the games be made for SteamOS.
The past few months of xbox game pass have been very good. But how many subpar months were there leading up to this? And how many great games will they have in the future? Game prices are super expensive now but so is xbox game pass and pricing wise, I just don't have the time to play enough games for xbox game pass to be worth it. If they ever release the family and friends package, then maybe.

I'm most interested in trying out cyberpunk with mouse controls. If they work really well, Switch 2 may be my console of choice for shooters.
Just like xbox games must support the series X and the series s, switch 2 games will need to support docked and handheld.
16gb and 32gb options should exist. Devs should use the smallest cartridge size that fits the entire game.
Casual gamers are the majority audience for both Nintendo and Sony. Children however are not. Demographics have been released stating that their majority demographic is age 25 - 34. I can't find good information for Sony but it seems that their majority audience is in the 18 - 34 range.

I only have 1 switch so I've never cared which games do or don't support cloud save. And I will likely keep my Switch instead of doing the trade in because I don't want any surprises with the system transfer. I can likely sell it on ebay for more than what gamestop would offer anyway.
Nintendo dominates the handheld/hybrid market and Playstation dominates the high end market. There is no fight for 2nd. Xbox is just stumbling around until they leave the console market entirely to merge with Windows.
