Software emulation is what they mean. It's emulating the n64 at a hardware level for 100% compatibility.
Yall clowning Rynxie like he's saying it's MS fault the online is bad. That's not what he said. He said he's waiting to see if Activision or MS does anything about the cheaters. By the time the game comes out, Activision will be under MS, and MS could tell them to fix it. Or they won't. Hence the waiting.

That 1% being that I appreciate having a rank / leaderboard (which also existed in the ps3 360 era). But I don't need parts of the game locked behind progression. Give me the full game with all of its options and let me watch my rank go up or down.

I don't think it'll ever go discless, but I can definitely see physical costing a premium in the future. Kind of like how limited run indie games cost more than their digital equivalent. And consoles will eventually stop having built in disc drives and you'll have to purchase an extra accessory to read discs.
Playstation produces significantly fewer digital consoles than physical. Even now a quick search at my local stores shows the PS5 disc console in stock but the digital is out of stock.
I just bought a digital PS5 in February of this year. Had to set up in stock alerts just to purchase one. Meanwhile the disc PS5 was available everywhere at the time. Digital is definitely under-produced.

Unclear if you'll be able to re-download it. For most de-listed games, you can still re-download them even after they are removed from purchase. There are some rare exceptions though. Generally, you can assume that it can be re-downloaded unless they explicitly state that you cannot.
Digital copies are still playable after the end of the month.
