FF7R 2nd is definitely going to be a beast.
I only played a tomb raider game for maybe 30 minutes. This article kinda makes me want to try these remastered ones.
Procedurally generated worlds are bad enough. AI games would be even worse.
Headline looks incredibly misleading. Just because 95% of studios are working on live service games doesn't mean that 95% of studios aren't also working on non live service games. Studios can work on more than one game at a time.
Someone corrected my math earlier. I have no idea why their post got marked as spam, but that math was done minutes after I had woken up lol.
Lol. I just woke up when I wrote that. Sorry.
Quick napkin math:
12 million sales of $20 = $24 mill
Server upkeep = $500k per month
48 months until bankruptcy.
This doesn't seem sustainable.
It's like using a digital key instead of a password.
Don't need fast travel if you aren't backtracking.
Yep. Palworld devs put their game on game pass out of the kindness of their hearts with no compensation. /s
Unfortunately for us, as their legal team seems to be more competent than Game Freak's development team.
The game is most comparable to Arceus as far as Pokémon games go. But even then there are some huge differences, like this game being real time combat, and arceus using turn based combat. However, it is still an amazing game, and really demonstrates the potential that Pokémon could have if they decided to dig more into Arceus (and include co-op).
I would love a new Socom but... part of the magic of Socom on the PS2 was the community. You could hop in a random lobby and it wouldn't be toxic name calling non sense from squeaky kids. Nowadays, if people talk at all, we're probably more likely to get someone blasting music over their mic, instead of forming up squads to complete an objective.
^ Nintendo has sole rights to black cats that vaguely look like lions.
Nintendo only caught lightning a couple of times. The Wii, DS, and now Switch. Given their current pattern, it's unlikely that the Switch 2 will do as well as the Switch. Especially with the rise of the Steam deck. That said, I suspect the Switch 2 to do about as well as the 3ds.
Clay Fighter 63 1/3rd was legitimately a good game. Mortal Kombat Mythologies as well. Those two games don't belong on the list. Superman obviously gets top spot. WCW Nitro, Power rangers, and War gods were also pretty bad. Not familiar with the rest of the games on the list.
^ I bet you could take a wire mesh of some random animals in the world and they would line up pretty close.
Also I looked at the meshes. They don't line up 1:1. It's more like a 75%-80% match, which is easily possible with all the different 4 legged animals in both games. How many pokemon are there? Coincidentally matching up to one of 1000 designs wouldn't be that hard.
Added to that, anyone playing on PC certainly isn't using a disc either.
Who said anything about finishing?
And I'm going to say that I've got some servers available for rent.
