The only way they could do that is if they used PS Now's pricing scheme, which sucks. They just need a VC that has all of the VC games from previous consoles along with a steady flow of new VC games.
If you can afford a 4ktv, ps4 pro, and a psvr, then you can afford a switch, but I do agree that the accessories are overpriced.
Your 2nd reason sucks. Online gaming requires a much more stable connection than streaming videos on Netflix.
At all of the fighting game tournaments I've been to, more than 90% of the competitors use an arcade stick. As long as the Switch supports that, then there can be a serious fighting game community on it, but don't expect to see that community online lol.
This article got it wrong. The Nintendo Switch DOES support Netflix. But you need an app on your smartphone to use it.
Nintendo's history is to make smart choices, but their current story is to get lucky.
As a more serious comment, I don't think motion controls are a bad thing. Only when there are forced into genres that don't need them (why am I shaking my remote for an extra jump in Mario?). Plus the tech has to be good as well. When a fencing match is dissolved into a waggle fest due to bad tracking, that's a problem.
Nintendo: "I just put 1000$ on 32 on roulette and hit! Let me keep trying that. Missed. Missed again. Still missing..."
Can you imagine?
"latest update broke matchmaking app. Can't play online. 1 star until fixed" - lots of reviewers on app store.
This isn't even kid friendly. My coworker has a 5 year old nephew that loved playing splatoon online. I'm pretty sure that said 5 year old does not have a smartphone, so no matches for him.
I can think of more than one bad feature.
Should still perform better than the Wii U, but with awful online features, won't be touching the Xbox one.
The 3DS and Vita seem to handle it just fine.
Yep, if I get the Switch, it would be an offline console for me. I have enough friends in real life that play Mario Kart and Smash.
I can run through the hover bike level pretty easily. The ice level though..... 300th time's the charm.
I enjoyed beat em ups and would welcome a new battle toads. They should make the combat system like Dragons Crown.
People are more likely to buy new games, than older games that they missed out on because there was something they were more interested in. It makes sense in that regard, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. Also, not everyone is interested in Zelda and Mario, so those gamers who only want Mario will have to wait even though they may not be playing Zelda. That said, the graphics in the Switch presentation looked a little rough around the edges (not much better than Galaxy 2 IMO), the...
Xenoblade 2?
I started SOCOM 2 not too long before SOCOM 3 came out, so I've spent more time with 3 than 2. But I do have fond memories of Cross Roads, Fish Hook, Enowapi, and others. The breach and demolition missions were my favorite.
It's possible I'm completely wrong about this, but maybe it has something to do with Bluetooth connectivity. Using your smartphone enables you to use a Bluetooth headset for communicating when out in public. With the joycons and other peripherals already connected to the Switch via Bluetooth, perhaps they didn't want to affect that connection by adding an additional device. Of course, that doesn't explain why they wouldn't enable a wired option which is just fine for peopl...
Ah. Reasonably priced accessories. Nintendo could learn something from this. These seem like useful accessories for the handheld aspect of the Switch. If I get a screen protector, hopefully I can get someone to put the screen on for me as I'm terrible at applying screen protectors.
