I have got the original PS2 version and it plays well on my BC PS3 (yes it still works).

One thing that may put off people is the attack lines which appear then you target an enemy or when an enemy targets you. Once you start getting "gambits" (they are not expensive to purchase) I suggest you turn off the attack lines. Actually, you can turn off the attack lines at any time. Personally, I found them annoying but others may prefer them.

When usi...

You would have to be a complete idiot not to realize that the Switch would sell well initially and being sold out on Amazon is a good indication although I would not be surprised that some of the buyers are scalpers.

As for the list of consoles and handhelds for Japan, that is interesting but you are comparing handhelds to consoles which is like comparing apples to oranges. I will concede that the Switch is sort of like a large handheld or tablet and a console so it has a ...

You are right but if you just have a PS4 you won't notice that much of a difference unless you have the screens side by side. Let's put it this way who enjoys the scenery when you have a tengu yokai trying it's best to send you to your maker?

In many ways, the action is like Bloodborne** except there is allot more strategy (eg Stances and Kai recovery) and you can slice limbs off, were as in Bloodborne you do get allot of blood with a visceral attack but no gor...

Like Kat, Raven is an enigma although if you have played Gravity Rush Remastered you do get some insights into their backgrounds. You do find out who Raven actually is and her real name but not how she or Kat for that matter got their gravity powers.

If you are a PS+ member you could have got it for about 60% off a few weeks ago.

If you have a PS+ account you can get GR - Remastered (9.9GB) for that price of $13.45 AUD. I got the game a few months ago and IMHO it is a really fun game . Some of those challenges can be tough although for most it is not that hard getting gold on each but compared to the top 10 in the world per challenge you find that you don't even come close.

Gravity Rush 2 (17.13GB) is $79.95 AUD on PSN and that does not include pre-order fluff. If you want the physical copy the...

If you have ever played Skyrim there is literally hundreds of different things to do in just the base game and as many players can attest you can easily spend well over 100 hours and hardly touch the main quest much less doing some of the guild quests.

Having a large map can be great if you really have something to do on it otherwise it is just wasted.

I have played Zelda games including 1 (NES), 2 (NES), 3 (SNES), Ocarina of Time (N64, Gamecube) and Wind...

I suppose you could say FF13 is a 40 hour RPG if you have a read a walkthrough prior to playing it. Yes, it is linear but then again so are most of the FF games. Like FF10 the game does open up towards the end.

In what way was FF13 busy work? If you set up appropriate "Paradigm Shifts" for all party members most battles are fairly straight forward and all you do is encounter the enemy (no button presses needed) and just accept the outcome when you win. If you don't win then you have done something wrong.

The "Paradigm Shift" setups are sort of a more streamlined "gambit" system that was part of FF12 and like FF13 there were no random encounters (F...

Why are you factoring in the cost of XBL and PS+ when Nintendo will also have an equivalent service that if you desire it you have to pay for it?

You can quite happily play single player games on the PS4 and XB1 without needing to pay for the online service. If you do want the online service and pay for it, you get two or more free games a month that you can get to keep for the duration of your subscription. In addition, you can get some very good discounts on selected game...

From what I can find NiOH is exclusive to the PS4.

The PS3, XBox360, PS4, XB1 and even PC's have architectures that are different to the Nintendo Switch which basically means that executable code for Skyrim will be different so in that context you could say it is a special edition.

As for basic gameplay, I very much doubt that Skyrim on the Switch is going to be different from what we have seen on other architectures although in the Switche's case we may or may not have the DLC that was associated with the Legendary...

As for a backlash against the FAT PS3. The machine still sold quite well globally in the first few years but started to take off in sales after Sony brought out the PS3 slim ($300 USD - 120GB model) which did not support PS2 backward compatibility. They also removed the card readers and reduced the USB ports from four to two.

I do agree with the apple to oranges comment but The Witcher 3 and Skyrim are both open world action RPG's. The major difference between the two games is the fact that TW3 is more story driven while Skyrim is more of a sandbox.

There is overlap between the two games but Skyrim allows you to create a character with many potential skill sets while TW3 has only two fixed playable characters and limited skill sets. In TW3 "Geralt of Rivia" as the central playable...

You can get the basic Skyrim or "The Legendary Edition" for the PS3 or XBox360 and while both are 720p "The Legendary Edition" has all DLC. That is ‎"Dragonborn", "‎Dawnguard" and ‎"Hearthfire". It still has that annoying (PS3) 6MB bug in that when your saves get to 6MB or more the game freezes until the save completes and I have seen freezes of up to a minute. The fix was to turn off all autosaves and save manually.

Not su...

Blurays can be scratched but you really do have to go out of your way to do this. If you nick the printing then effectively the disk is toast, this is why I always recommend putting the disk back in its case or clear/shiny surface down.

Sigh!. Load games via digital download on a 1TB 7200rpm HDD, a Hybrid HDD or even an SSD (Expensive but incredibly fast) drive I could have well over 100 games some AAA and others games I really like. I can take my machine anywhere and I have the choice of playing any one game out of those games I own without inserting a cartridge or Bluray disk. I can even get a cheap but robust 10" to 12" HDMI monitor for when I am away from home for under $100 USD although admittedly you can do t...

NO LOADING!

Sorry to burst your bubble but all software and that includes games have to load into memory and that loading is limited by a combination of system bus and the loading (reading) speed of the device which contains the program (read games) being loaded.

Since I don't know what the speed of the Switch's bus is I will assume it has the same performance of the PS4pro which is SATA 3 (6Mb/sec). This in itself is pretty good although if you c...

Prices in Australia (EB Games) are $469.95 for the base Switch (choice of colours) plus $89.95 for "Breath of the Wild". Optional Pro Controller $99.95.

Base price with Zelda game is $559.90 ($419.95 USD) and for that price, I can get a PS4pro with admittedly no game but I can purchase new and second-hand games much cheaper than the ones offered by the Switch.

Note: I am being a little unfair with the Switch pricing of games since they will dro...
