@cueil you also need the gpu to support hardware tiling thats why it's 'hardware tiling' and not software tiling.
The complex algorithms are worked out with hardware but implemented completely differently in software to massively decrease file sizes.

The problem with MS vision of sharing your games was that it was limited to an hours play only so I would rather own the disk and lend them the full game instead.

It may be quicker from disk if it can pull information from the hdd at the same time as the disk.

@blueblood I know it's not and it will probably come to the ps4 too, I would put second son as a launch window game too which I think will be the best ps4 launch game.
Apart from the price difference and psplus this is the main reason I have chosen the ps4 over the xbone.
Its a quite dated laptop with a celeron processor trust me it won't do gaming, and if a touch it before my girlfriend finishes her last module of her uni work I think she would kill me as she only has a few weeks left.
It looks great, really looking forward to playing this and war thunder when I get my ps4.

I'm the opposite I prefer the xbone lineup to me forza is the best game of all the launch games along with titan fall and remedy always make great games.
But I'm buying a ps4 at launch because it seems to have the most potential and has lots of interesting free to play stuff and also psplus with its free games is a far better deal than anything MS has to offer.
Looks ok, will definitely be downloading on psplus but I still think both forza and need for speed look alot better.

The vita has a rear facing camera so you could do really good augmented reality using the ps4 to produce the graphics.
Something impossible without a second screen.

An os based purely on gaming is revolutionary in the pc world, did you not read the bit that said they have made large gains on imput latency and on the gpu and sound side.
Because the ps4 is linux too devs may just choose to make a linux version in parallel with the ps4 instead of paying ms for using dx.
