I moving from xbox to sony, not because of any corporate reasons just purely on price, power and free games.
Ms don't manufacturer anything, they get people to do it for them.
And the saturn and ps1 also went head to head too, sega won the battle but sony won the war.
All these sound way off, for a start valve has said the price will start at $99, clearly valve have planned to to subsidised and also amd have got close to valve too, I expect a streaming box with not much in it similar to a massively beefed up raspberry pi, second I expect a similar all in one chip almost the same as the ps4 as mantle is based around 8core processing and a third unit with duel gpu.
@enermy I don't get the hype over killzones graphics, alot of the textures at eurogamer looked pretty average, some of the wall especially looked cr@p.
@ballseyes if what you're saying is true then the videos of a crashed ps4 going to the new home screen and people filming it must be great fakes from eurogamer expo.

I don't understand how they can just throw away something that looked so promising and it must have been quite far along in terms of production.
I'm sure they could have come to some arrangement for ea to publish it.
It's not often that everyone wins and if they sell more dlc because of it or a sequel then good on them for giving away the game cheep
Valve own a huge share of the pc games market, if the majority of new games come out with a steam os version as well as a Windows version but the steam version runs faster then everyone will just migrate to steam os for a better experience.
People spend lots of money on better hardware to get better performance and if they can do it with a free upgrade then its a nobrainer.
P.s I didn't agree or disagree nobody can predict the future.

I think you need to check out what the dreamcast did for gaming before the ps2 came out.
Seamen did voice controls.
Samba da amigo did motion controls.
And very popular console online gaming started there pso, quake 3, cho cho rocket etc.
Also the n64 brought popularity to analogue controls.
And I personally owned 2 cd based consoles before the ps1 launched.

If I had a ps3 I would definitely get this and heavy rain, I think people should treat the game like an rpg.
Surely if you reviewed an rpg with battle menu's etc you couldn't say the gameplay is crap because it's not as action packed as a fps.

Making it exclusive wouldn't be such a big deal, it's free to download the os and give a performance boost too.
It's more likely to be a choice though, I.e you can play it on on windows for x amount or you play it on steam os for less as we don't need to pay ms and you will also get a framerate boost.
@chris, it is a full system with an optimised gaming OS.
They are even bringing out many different speced systems.
The reality is that games run smoother when they frame rate matches the display which is why console games should try to lock at 60fps as it generally matches the display.
Movies are filmed at 24fps usally which is why tvs now have a 24htz mode as its smoother.
Which from the bluray will installed straight on the much faster access hdd.
And what if amazon ship early like alot of online retailers do.x
