News story of the day. Easy. O_O
Not to mention those goddamn Facebook games. God, I hate Mafia Wars and Farmville (GTA and Harvest Moon rip-offs).
Very true. The scale of Reach, heck even of Halo 3, is something that always managed to trump Gears. And I agree that Reach, for a Halo title, has decided to use some shadowing for the proper grim atmosphere. After watching Halo: Legends, there's no doubt in my mind that so long as Bungie has that proper art direction to go with the future grim military atmosphere, Reach can buck the trend of Halo being an FPS for more casual gamers. Kind of similar to what Omega4 says: Great graphics don't m...
@deadreckoning666:
Exactly. Hey, I'm grateful Bungie updated the visuals for Reach, but I want to know more about the gameplay. Even games like F.E.A.R., back when it was considered a graphical marvel, didn't hook me unless it had gameplay to back it up. It's foolish to have these expectations after ODST, but Bungie is making some actual, real changes this time around, so I remain hopeful.
The thing is, the Xbox 360, while not capable of something like Killzone 2, is still capable of things that look better than Reach. This is, again, from a pure numbers perspective. In my opinion, I always found Gears 2 to look better than Reach.
Lol. True that. Though I don't see how people can argue against plain numbers. >:)
@Killjoy: Ah yes, the sales figures thing. Well, a Halo title like ODST sold well on it's very week but I enjoyed 20 minutes of Resistance 2 far, far more than the entire campaign of ODST. I'm keeping an open mind for Reach because it has potential but after ODST, i'm remaining skeptical.
@T:
Because that totally happened with Modern Warfare 1 when the sequel was released, right?
It'd be awesome if Agent had a fall release. With the commotion it caused last year - and since it IS a Rockstar North exclusive, which we have not seen on this generation of consoles till now...I'd just like to see more of the gameplay before commenting. I'm also curious on the release of GT5, but E3 could provide some info on that.
As for Killzone 3...I am very VERY skeptical it will be released this year. Maybe announced at E3 but I doubt we'll see a release in 2010. It kind o...
Uh, they aren't? Hmm, didn't know that, though yes, as of now No More Heroes for the PS3/360 hasn't been given a stateside release.
Huh. Seems like it came from that guy with the supposed "leaked" and "official" copy of the game. He's been awfully thorough, have to give him that. Will probably sit down and view them all when i get the chance.
I'd like to see what titles they announce at E3 because aside from Reach and Fable III for 360 and Arc (and hopefully Last Guardian) for PS3, not a whole lot of exclusives coming for either console at the end of the year.
Yeah. Though Nintendo will be prepared, seeing the number of titles they're releasing then.
Whoa, hot damn. Mighty generous the uploader but is the game even officially out yet?
People seem to be misunderstanding this article - it's mainly about how handhelds, though limited by their graphics, have reinvented the gaming genre more than consoles have in recent memory.
I'm a PC gamer. And I'm whining about this review because I don't really think, "I want this piece of f*cking crap because it's no good!" is a very strong impetus to buy a game. So sue me.
@above: Funny you should say that. Found this comment by some one in the review,
"I had a sneaking suspicion that you reviewed this just to give it a higher score than Heavy Rain (and not just in a trolling way, as I don't doubt that you enjoyed it more and believe it deserves a higher score)."
That's...huh. Not sure what to make of Destructoid if that were true (though no journalist in their right mind would admit it).
"Deadly Premonition is like watching two clowns eat each other. It's perverse, it's wrong, and yet it's so f*cking funny."
(Backs away about 10 feet)
Edit: This review is kind of reminds me of Funny Games - you had to keep a really open mind and just admit you were along for the ride, admitting to yourself that yes, what you're experiencing is terrible (for the movie, terrible as in horrific; for this review, terrible as in mediocre) but you have to see th...
Agreed, though I find the overall video of Jason (who's the actual guy carving) creating a Big Daddy from nothing. There's layers of symbolism there I dare not interpret. :|
If only wishes were truly fishes. :(
We can hope against hope that they will, but for all we know, Activision will just sweep this all under the rug, find some way to malign IW further and then keep CoD all to themselves, convincing gamers that they're the geniuses behind it after all. Happened with EA when they dismantled Origin, creators of Ultima. :(
