Saw some rough edits here and there, but overall, I find it amazing how the author found some original music that corresponded so well with the action. Of course, the editing is top notch (like when Starkiller goes for the Force Blast). Good stuff and hope to see some more.
Sephiroth isn't a monster and neither is Metal Gear Ray. And can the T-Rex from Tomb Raider be classified as a "monster"? "Monster" seems like a sweeping generalization for some of the characters mentioned.
Surprised he didn't at least mention one of the following (if we're going by how scary they are):
1. Nemesis, Tyrant and Licker (Resident Evil series)
2. ReDead (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
3. Doll Fact...
It's N4G. This place is a venerable mega terminal for PS3 exclusive hype trains. :)
Though yes, inFamous 2 is looking great. It's too bad it'll be released next year but if they make it as good as the trailers have shown, then it'll be worth it.
On another note (since I didn't see you after the E3 conference): Portal 2 ZOMGWTFEPICWIN. xD
@Alpha: Hmm, let's try an experiment then.
I say Batman: Arkham Asylum is the best superhero game ever made, and completely beats inFamous in every single department (graphics, gameplay, music). If any one has any compelling proof to state why inFamous is better, please do. Does it compete with AA? Definitely. Does it beat AA? Nope, nuh-uh, no way jose.
Edit@Alpha: I for one was amazed at just how bad inFamous 1's graphics were. I mean, the game was ...
I just wanna state a couple of things:
Mass Effect 1 is to Mass Effect 2 what Kingdom Hearts 1 is to Kingdom Hearts 2.
Both sequels adapted a more linear story telling approach and less depth to exploration (despite having large and numerous world) in comparison to their predeccesors.
Both took a more action oriented and stylish approach.
Both got better reviews than their predeccesors, and they didn't (just) improve on t...
There's no point in trying to find "the" superhero sandbox of our time. While inFamous may appeal to some, Prototype would appeal better to others. Some like the story of inFamous better, while some like the character levelling and abilities of Prototype. Hell, truth be told, Ultimate Spiderman and Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction still stand as milestones to what the genre has achieved, both featuring excellent gameplay (though Ultimate Spiderman was pretty short) and abil...
It's an addiction, and I can't check into rehab because I spent all our rent money on keeping the trophies coming.
(Nope. No sarcasm tag here, folks.)
Comment deleted. :P
Do you really hate your bubbles that much right now? Are they whispering to you in a sweet, hateful voice, begging for the beautiful release of death? Are you going mad hearing those voices, every day and every night, unrelenting, unflinching, as you descend into madness?
Or are you just stupid? (actually, don't answer that)
My intention was just to state how every one did good in May. Beats all the doom and gloom industry analysts are spouting. But if helped you out, then you're very much welcome. :)
Ah, okay.
And I don't agree with OoT being there either. Which is why I didn't say "No Link to the Past". :)
A top 5 really is too limited. A top 50 would have worked, but a top 5?
@The_Zeitgeist: Still, a Top 5 list without Planescape Torment or Baldur's Gate 2 or even Fallout is just plain blasphemy.
Also, Silent Hill doesn't have character building. But it has action and dramatic overtones. Does ...

The children! Won't some one think of the children?! :D
@BattleAxe: Unreal Tournament, Quake III and Counterstrike say 'Hi'.
I'm not new to gaming, unfortunately. The games I listed are some high profile FPS titles that came out AFTER CoD4 (when single-player allegedly died). I forgot to mention The Orange Box. A mistake I regret, but yes, it is one of those packs that has both awesome multiplayer and single player experiences.
Also, it's only my personal opinion when I say Wolfenstein and Resistance 2 had good single player and multiplayer experiences. Note the key word "good". I...
That's like asking how many and why are there so many stupid gaming journalism sites out there (the answers being: a lot, and only as stupid as the amount of hits they get from the same articles).
Well, WoW is successful thanks to the legions and legions of devout PC gamers. Old Republic will have a tough time topping that, unless it does what WoW can't - or even offer something to WoW gamers that they don't know they want yet (but when they get into it, they won't be able to do without it).
As far as console MMOs go (and I refer to FFXIV, since it is first and foremost a console franchise, even if it is on PC), I don't see them competing with WoW. Just...
Accorindg to the May NPD, the DS accounted for over 86 percent of total handheld sales. It even sold more units than the Wii (that's just the US though).
If the PSP is going to survive, it's definitely gonna have to do more than just get it's advertising department to introduce a random smack-talking kid peddling misleading information. I understand they're trying to repeat the success of Kevin Butler to turn around the PSP, but at least the KB turn was accomp...
Good to see that every console has something positive to boast about. XBox 360 is seeing good sales, while RDR sells well and the attachment rate rises.
Meanwhile, the PS3 is seeing good console sales as well and their software revenue was up by 58 percent.
Wii is stil leading the hardware sale. I'm not too excited about WiiMotion+ and Wii Resort bundles, but considering games like Metroid: Other M are coming up (not counting all the other biggies shown a...
Does it's audience dictate it should do so?
Is there a particular market share they feel they should assert their influence in? Does it warrant spending money, time and resources for?
Finally, does Nintendo feel it could gain something from a premium online service?
And remember - this is a company that introduced friend codes to protect kids online against "weirdos". That should give you a good enough indication as to how they ...
Well, there goes the rest of my faith in humanity.
