I've bought more games this year than I did last year in total...but a lot of them were overrated, q4 08 and q1 09 were awesome though.
Dead Space, Mirrors Edge, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Crysis Warhead, Red Alert 3, Mass Effect, they were good gaming months.
But now it seems 90% of the good titles from this year have been pushed back to q1 2011:
Deus Ex HR, Witcher 2, Bulletstorm, Brink, RAGE, Dragon Age 2... there really isn't much to lo...

In addition to excellent PC exlusives like Starcraft 2...multiplat games are not even the same games as they are on console's.

I was always a console gamer primarily, but I played PC too, for HOMM, starcraft etc etc, but a few years ago when the PS3 and 360 launched at ridiculous prices and the wii which I bought sucked ass...I went and built my first real gaming PC, never going back to console's again.

That's where you are going wrong.
No matter how good the laptop you buy is...if you had spend that same money on a desktop PC is will be twice as powerful for the same money, and that is a universal truth. There are no 'good' gaming laptops because a good gaming laptop costs the same as the BEST desktop gaming PC. Unless you like burning money, don't do it.
I don't know why people are cheering there was always going to be a steam version...this changes nothing for steam users. It just means that for people like me with $#!+ internet I have to have forced updates and deal with steam screwing up my game installs ( F.E.A.R 2 won't work after the last steam update ) and AVP3 started trying to redownload the entire game for no reason...even though my retail version was installed and fully updated. This is B.S, steam does not stop piracy and f...
Wow that would really really suck. I have the shittest internet known to man, I hate this online only push B.S. I still buy my games on disks and will continue to do so. If the second and third games are released this way then i'll have waited 10yrs for 1/3yr of a sequel...B.S all over it.
I will have to pirate F.E.A.R 2 soon because the copy which I own and bought at retail ( though it requires steam ) will no longer work since a steam update, and they have not responded to me about it.
A similar thing happened with AVP3...with DRM games sometimes the pirated version is the only version that works, I have learnt that the hard way, the next game is on them instead ;)
Just played through dead space again a few days ago...it was as good on my 10th playthrough ad it was on my first, i'll give it a few weeks before playing through my new game + with the military suit,

I don't see why developers would all of a suddern make RTS games on console's that require move, when they have not even made use of a the PS3's mouse and keyboard support...
If console gamers weren't so attached to their imprecise controllers then games like diablo 3 and starcraft 2 would also come to consoles.
For fighting and racing games...I wouldn't even dream of using a keyboard and mouse...for RTS I wouldn't even consider using ...
This further prooves the power of UE3...those graphics look very similar to killzone 2, and it was a mod...
Somehow I don't think those monsters count as particle effects...
Name 1 other open world game that looks as good as crysis 2.
Then name another game that can do it on both consoles at 720p and 30 frames AND with 3d on all 3 platforms...
If anything crysis are underrated.
I don't know what physics you're talking about. I say Predators tonight and there were almost no special effects, certainly no particle of physics effects, it was a very weak movie visually, even worse than the original ...
It is real time, people on Guru3D have been benching it, a card like a gtx480 gets about 30 frames with no aa on

overstatement 22 frame average with a 480 with 4aa @1200p, so possibly around 30 without AA

LOL @ PC screens at 720p, you can't even buy 720p monitors...
They also always bench without AA and AF...that's like playing a blu ray over vga cables on a 1080p tv...
I find it offensive that publishers earnings count as news for gamers. I would count it news for activision stock holders...
Man these little updates are getting so old, they did this $#!+ for 3 years with SC@ leaking little bits of useless info and then charging people $100+...for more useless info at each blizzcon, I want a new trailer/class update or release date.
I think CPUs will be on a GPU card before we see any decent GPUs in a CPU...
Larabee is dead and gone and CPU dies are too small too add a significant number of GPU transistors and other features in.
I wish Gigabyte would come into the CPU game though...there is not enough competition. AMD lost 43 million this year despite the 11million DX11 GPUs sold. I can't see them dedicating significant R&D money to things like this when they are just starting to...
