wtf is it these days, every game is instantly given bad kudos if it is not a GOTY contender, can't it just be a good f-ign game.

I'm sick of reading about how every new release, whether it be a yearly rehashed shooter ( MOH, COD ) is going to be OMFG, GOTY B!TCHES!!!

In a world where GTAIV,the worst in the series and one of my top 10 hated/disappointing games of all time; can get 10/10. Even games with unanimous praise can blow chunks, i'm gonna go with my instincts on this one and pay heed to the first review we saw: "FO3 minus originality".

FO3 was my game of the year...and the last few Obsidian games I played were sub par...it's not hard to see the signs.

I wish this would knock some sense into them...but it won't. They'll keep making games that both the east and west hate and up production on PS1 to DS ports...

Talk about it, i've done my share of charity buying, buying low**er** rated games or games by unknown devs...it's always disappointing. The industry is killing itself with unoriginality, I don't even buy games that get 7/10 anymore because 7/10 these days is like 3/10 in the days of old.

I think you're trying just a little too hard...name me one other console game that looks as good at GT5 and runs at 60frame with an equal number of pixels being pushed at any given time.

I don't know why people are disagreeing with you, BFBC2 felt shallow to me, and 90% of the people on these forums who would have killed for that game before launch now say that it is 100% broken. I personally won't be fooled again.

Digital sales are not tracked and it sold very very well, it was top of steam best seller list for quite a while. currently 30 million people use steam, does that tell you anything? it is not an 'opinion' poll it is a sales chart, one that is a direct reflection of the userbase.

There are thousands of creators of FO3 mods, let alone users of them, and modders and mod users are...

Impluse is still better. It may not have as many games, but it doesn't have client breaking updates once a week and attempt to re-download 20gb retail games that are already installed and fully up to date.

It does have LAN support, the MP is pretty friggin good.

Imagine a next gen battlefront, lots of AT-ST ( star wars ) type mounts, command point nodes, lots of grenades being thrown around, lots of character customisation....some epic MF taunt animations ( hundreds of unlocks ), but the SP makes me want to club children to death...

There is no proper offline single player death match though. Only LAN, online or 'training mode'. Graphics are sweet thoug...

All I want to know is if it is capped at 30 frames, supports AA, and has decent keyboard and mouse support/you can remap keys...

I'm playing it now...it isn't, I just realised that I have to replay an hr of gameplay because of a random bug... :D!!!

LP2 wants to be RE5...but it is 1/10th as fun and it has NO story. graphics are decent, bosses are frustrating ( not in difficulty, but in how retarded the battles play out ) and the 'normal' combat is weak sauce. MP is the only good thing about the game and you can't even play MP offline properly, only training mode ( aka deathmatch wher...

Another fact from the anus of a poster...development time is VARIABLE. Different technologies require different development times, even they cannot know how long it will take, look at Nvidia's latest round of GPUs...the largest chip maker on the planet had an 8 month delay because of unforeseen problems.

Sounds good to me. But don't go thinking this is 'nice of them'. This is how it should be, anything less and we are getting ripped off.

Both of those games have shooting elements, yes, but they are first are foremost RPGs, Bioshock would have been a better comparison, 20+ hrs and unlike borderlands...it has a story.

Actually it's because Nintendo broke the Sony deal and went to go with Pioneer instead but it didn't pan out, so the CD driver was just an addon as it took too long and then they just stuck with cartridges for the next gen.

After Sony had already been working on the disk driver for the SNES and had the tech, they just figured that instead of wasting R&D that they would make their own console.
