That's why I chose a female shepard, the guy one looks like a jock douche.

Of course we need a Wii HD, games like Pokemon Battle Revolution look amazing on Wii, but have you tried component cables on a HDTV...480p with no scaling...it ain't pretty.

I thought borderlands was fairly meh, it was ok but it doesn't belong in a 'top 10' style list of any kind.

LEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOYYY!!!

The Wii was the only console that offered anything of interest to me of the 3 consoles this gen, I owned all 3 last gen but this time around the PS3 and 360 are just PC-lites.

This is true but when a mofo gets itchy...it has to go.

At least I know I can grow one if I want to, being clean shaven because you can't grow facial hair is another matter.

Yeah Rage will be great won't it.

My point is that it is not a big step up from KZ2 at all, and that without 3D it would look better. Sure you can chose to turn 3D off, but everyone who plays it 3d or not loses quality as a result of 3d.

It might be optional but all the streaming or visual reductions that were enforced to make sure it ran good in 3d are not going to all of a sudden disappear, the game doesn't have visual 'settings'.

What is your problem, in the first sentence of my first comment on this article I said:

"they sure as hell need larger storage capacity disks for the next gen"

No one is denying that, but people are obsessed with the idea of Blu-Ray as 'the chosen one'. I am also well aware of the effect low storage space and compressed data has on visuals and load times, but this gen aka the HD ( a term used to describe a resolution that was used on PC near...

I spent a fair bit on my PC. If you want to get a PC and do it right, you don't buy a PC just for gaming, you incorporate the gaming parts when you buy a new PC every 5 years or so...it's a lot cheaper.

The next generation of CPUs are coming next year and I can't recommend upgrading now. Also the 'refresh' video cards from both ATI and Nvidia are coming next year, a good upgrade is an informed one, and this is a bad time to buy.

I wouldn't know even if it did come to PC, I don't play $#!+ games.

Have is sub HD with 55FOV, noaa 30 frames with drops down to 20, screen tearing and linear gameplay and DLC treating you. How was AVP, BFBC2, Dirt 2 etc in DX11 for you?

Or what about Starcraft 2, Civ 5?

I was gaming in 1600x1200 in 2003, you need to like catch up and stuff.

"I don't care for 60 FPS since the eye can't tell anything different after 30FPS anyway. "

lol, your average person can see over 200fps, fighter pilots are tested to see over 300fps. That is a B.S folk tale.

Agreed, but console games only run at 30 so this is irrelevant for 99.999999999999999% of the people on this site, if I had to choose a console game at 30 frames with no choice of 3D or 30 frames with a choice of 3D i'd take the choice. But if it was a multiplat and 3 3d version clearly had degraded performance or visuals, I would choose the non 3D version.

Lucky I get all options...non image loss with or without 3d + 60 frames :D PC gaming ftw.

I'd hit it.

most of those games run at 720p and 30 frames, MGS4 is sub HD, yes the difference is negligible for the most part. I think you will find the programing on the cell plays a larger part than the Blu-Ray does in those games, if you had the PS3, still with the cell, most games would look the same, as I said, there are other factors besides the Blu-Ray.

Who says it needs to be a 'standard', let's just put all the subjective fanboy B.S aside.

If MS can make a propriety higher capacity disk, and it costs them less money than it would to pay Blu-Ray licensing fees then why shouldn't they?

Blu Ray itself is not unique it just happened to be the format that won, there is no Blu-Ray adoption on PC because all that matters is the higher storage capacity, which is provided by HDDs. If they had an alt...

They don't necessarily need blu ray, but they sure as hell need larger storage capacity disks for the next gen.

But for this gen it doesn't matter. It's not like PS3 games run at 1080p as a result of blu-ray, fanboys overstate it so at the end of the day the difference is usually negligible.
