I think you'll find that for a long time, no sales charts have included digital distribution sales. they are based on soundscan etc: retail sales. Valve makes about 500 million a year from DD, so does blizzard ( with world of warcreaft), you could probably double the pc sales figure due to them and impulse and direct 2 drive

pc's= pc gaming ( whether it be the sims or crysis), as long as there are pc's, people will play games on them, and those that care about graphics etc will upgrade, logical evolution of technology. Have you seen the number of pc recommendation threads recently?, everyone wants a decent gaming rig, only those that can't afford one are the ones that diss

i'd seen the forum with all that stuff a few days ago, it's great and all I( i'm mostly impressed with his cpu overclock and multiple monitor setup) but 4 cards, and even 3 scales unbelievably bad, new ati driver may fix it but as it stands 3 5870's are almost identical in performance to 2, and 4 cards saw a decrease in some things, cpu bottleneck even @4.72ghz....hammer time!

That's the stupidest thing i've ever read, why would one of the most profitable companies in gaming sell to bethesda ( and bethesda is a much smaller company than valve, zenimax the parent company is the one with the $'s)

Holy schnitzel!, i'm not an experienced modder, i tinker, but this looks cool, i could never muster the effort to learn the entire toolsets to really go all out, but if i can add some snazy ridiculously overpowered weapons for the lulz, then all is well
correction: ID WAS all about OpenGL, unfortunately/fortunately, d3d has taken over and more emphasis is being put on it, but it's technology, may the best tech win, and d3d has surpassed openGL by alot, i'll take whatever works and whatever looks best.

i cancelled my EB pre-order for mass effect 2 and dragon age when i found out that they were $30 cheaper at game ( online price)
Dragon age:
EB= $129 collectors ED
GAME online= $99
Mass Effect 2:
EB= $109
GAME online= $89

For anyone that couldn't be bothered to read the article ( which you should to as it tells you how to update) windows already has the script to enable the dx11 update for vista...microsoft is conveniently holding the update back so that people rush out to buy win7 for dx11, but if you follow the easy guide you can unlock the update now, and windows updater will automatically download the rest of the update ( which is being held back for service pack 3)
The sad fact is that it will change people's minds because they believe the hype around win7.
