because i play games to relax, if i wanted to deal with a bunch of people i would play sport...
Is it that hard to understand?, i don't play games competitively, i play them for my enjoyment, i heard that the older games had bots, i figured there would be a chance that this one would...

If you think all the "AAA" games coming out are 'hardcore' then you have no idea what your talking about, they are as mainstream as it gets, a game like marasuma is a 'hardcore' title, gears and gow are more casual than titles like that. But if it makes you feel better telling yourself you're hardcore, then i'll let you have it
i find it amusing that people post "wii is dying" articles when it is the only profitable console....it also happens to be the best selling, funny that.

People have forgotten what hardcore games mean, fanboys tell themselves gears of war or god of war are 'hardcore games', pokemon on the original gameboy was hard to the mf core.

Well that sucks, i got my hopes up for nothing, the only thing that could make 2010 better for gaming would be dead space 2...damn the first game was amazing, not a horror game fan, but loved dead space, definitely in my top 5 fav games
there are always benefits to having a more powerful gpu. For example, I can play every old game at my native res with 16q anti aliasing, 16 anisotropic filtering, v-sync, triple buffering, and ambient occlusion, and still get 60 frames and never dip below, it sucks when you have to trade off for better quality/lower frame rates. Of course anything ovwe 30 frames is generally playable it's always better to have higher frames and turn some more setting up/on.

I just discovered a gem of a game i hadn't even heard about until today, it's called 'torchlight', it's made by 2 of the guys that made diablo 1 and 2, it plays like a diablo 3 looks in the vids. Awesome hack and slash rpg. Very addictive, only 3 classes, a melee type, a ranged, and an alchemist ( summons steel golems and minions and is a spell caster), it only came out 2 days ago, but it's $20 on steam, they won't release a retail version till january, but i'm having a ball playing it.

we pc gamers have me2, bioshock 2, battlefield 2, dark void, aliens vs predator also, next year is gonna be awesome, i'm sure dragon age will keep me entertained ffrom now until january easily

i've played GTAIV, Mass Effect and Fallout 3, GTAIV was by far the worst game i've played this gen, mass effect was good, and fallout 3 was better, it got near universal acclaim for good reason

supreme commander is the whole reason i upgraded my pc....i was gaming on a laptop with 128mb graphics before i built this pc. Quad still doesn't help supcom much, that game is brutal, there is a program called 'core maximiser' specifically made for supcom that you can download which will re-allocates threads based on the number of cpu cores you have, i always run it as it makes it run just that little bit better
unfortunately they did away with it, i didn't mind it, it was in keeping with the underwater theme (pipes with water)
That can't be good, any DLC that is finished and ready before a game releases is a joke, shame on you valve, i thought you were better than that
I know people are going ape**** over this, but these figures are proof that console sales mean almost nothing. Your example of blu-ray royalties etc: all 3 of the 'gaming giants' have other areas to make up for potential losses....but nintendo still made a big profit, and i know why, they went cheap on the hardware etc etc, but it was still a good move, and it's still a good console...it just doesn't have many good games...for me anyway.

once you start running high res with aa, cpu becomes almost irrelevant, i saw some crysis benchmarks a few days ago that compared the fastest quad core to a basic dual core (2.4ghz i think) with a gtx295, and at 1680*1050 with 8aa, there was only 1 frame difference across all the setups. unless you consider getting 120 frames instead of 150 running at 720p with no aa a bottlneck ( which is pretty much the only time games becomes cpu bound) then don't worry about upgrading. GTAIV was the only game i've bought that was really disappointing, after san andreas+ all the GTAIV reviews that consisted of "best game EVAR!"....when i finally got my hands on it, i was pissed off from the first sequence at how stupid the animations/story/driving/comba t were...it didn't get any better after 10...15....20 hours.
I haven't finished it and i never will, it is the only game i haven't bother to reinstall after formatting my computer.
