that's pretty punishing for UE3... i guess my hopes of running other new games like dragon age with 16qaa have gone down the drain
$10 extra for a game with a re-used engine! :O ( job well done IW, another shocked person)
no released specs yet, just guesses
those particular enemies were 'geth husks' aka semi-mindless robots, they are basically robot zombies, if you played mass effect you would know they are not there to do acrobatics...they are there to pump a crap load of bullets into while stronger enemies shoot rockets at you from afar, like the 'geth armature' and rocket troopers.....i think i feel like playing mass effect now
which pc games do you mean, because a few of the best console games in recent times that i have for pc are:
farcry 2
dead space
fallout 3
mirrors edge
bioshock
FEAR 2
GTAIV
Left 4 dead
mass effect
games coming to pc soon:
dragon age
mass effect 2
bioshock 2
starcraft 2
diablo 3
doom 4
RAGE
dark void
aliens vs predator
supreme commander 2
c&c4 ...
Yeah i have a good pc but it didn't run so hot. Poor optimisation is the culprit. When a game gets the same frame rate as crysis...you know somethings wrong. Looks like they've tweak a lot of things for this though, hopefully it will transfer across to pc, my apologies to 360 owners who consider it blasphemy, but i am grateful that bioware chose to share it with us pc gamers too.
looks like they've ramped the action up a fair bit, more enemies at a time etc, the graphics aren't OMFG, but it's an rpg, so it's per the standard. It's obviously a lot better looking than the first, and the frame rate is a lot better. Can't wait. First Dragon Age then ME2, Bioware you spoil us *blushes*
I know what you mean, but it does suck that nvidia doesn't port physx to ati ( which the nvidia ceo has said is possible), but at the same time, ati could always come up with their own physx...actually I take it back, they sub-contracted lucasarts to work on their open source alternative...they don't have skilled enough technicians. I used to love amd, but them and ati have become second rate, they released faulty quad cores with 1 cores disabled because they were unstable...and so they sold ...
I don't have any figures, but i would take a guess at valve being worth as much as zenimax, valve makes an insane amount of money from steam, they are a 500 million a year company so valve's 1 year profit would also be enough to buy out the devs zenimax has aquired,I also don't see why they would take a once of buyout payment over their entire future profits...that seems like commercial suicide...but i'm not a business person

and look at the prices on www.umart.com.au
2 examples of places that usually sell cheap hardware, both of them have gone from the $350 mark to 400 in the last few days, your seedy newspaper cliping-esque pdf doesn't prove ****, the prices are going up everywhere
As mentioned below, The Witcher, an RPG from a relatively unknown developer...a foreign made game, sold 1 million, pc gaming doesn't do badly on it's own either, but why make profit from 1 platform when you can make it from 3?. P.S, halo 1+2 came to pc also. If uncharted ( the ps3 mainstay, even had it's own bundle only sold 2 million...compared to my 'witcher' example) then ps3 isn't exactly going in all guns blazing, 2 million is the benchmark for console game sales, games hardly ever break...
what the hell are you talking about, i just said the price in AUS!!!, and they have gone up in price, intel have said since before they launched the 940 i7's that they would phase them out at the end of the year, I have a better pc than what you just posted so don't try to tell me how it is idiot, i know how much parts cost, the price of i7 920 and 940 is going up because intel are phasing them out and there is a high demand/low supply, later this year or early next year the gt300 will come o...
It's not a good time to be buying pc hardware, i7 prices just shot up too, here in aus the price went from $350 to $400 for the i7 920 ( the phasing out has begun)
The fact is that most game makers are going multiplat to stay profitable, but:
Starcraft 2 and diablo 3 ( 2 pc only games...subject to this pc industry destroying piracy i keep hearing console players mention), will both sell 12 million a piece. Now hands up anyone owning a console that knows of a console game for their respective console's that have sold 12 million...anyone???, i didn't think so.
@chak
i don't mind a multiplat either, as long as they pu...
and ati fans claim their driver support is as good as nvidia...
that's insane though, dx9 is the most successful API ever, there are still dx9 games coming out, and they still look insanely good: see dragon age origins, mass effect 2, dead space 2, diablo 3, starcraft 2, bioshock 2......and so on forever
something tells me a major psychological disorder or meth are responsible for this...not the game
Nomad grabs people by the throat the kills them by throwing them with 'strength mode' on his suit....i'm pretty sure that's as bad ass as it gets, Nomad wins
some strength mode goodness:

In the wikipedia article:

they changes the core clock down from 700 to 650, and bumped the shader clock from 1600 to 1700, this was yesterday. I'm sure the author wouldn't have made a random alteration for no reason. Although a clock decrease is obviously not a good thing it may be indicative of the true numbers....n...
I wish someone had told me about it sooner, but going off GAME's store prices (which are usually as bad as EB), i never thought to look, got my pre order for dragon age and ME2 already paid for, Bioshock is 74!!!
PC gaming profit's for 2008: 12.7 billion

Said it all along, we won't be seeing a ps4 for a looooooooong time.
