I forget about that. That was on this site a while ago, and there were quite a few pictures. I remember it being pretty impressive.
Did a quick search and found one of them:

This issue has been bothering me ever since 360 launched. I'm glad somebody finally addressed it!
For naysayers about lower resolution vs. better graphics, you're missing the whole point! Here's a comparison:
Take this hi-res 1080p screenshot of Virtua Tennis:

And compare it with a low-res image of actual, real-life tennis:...
All I can think about is:
"I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark, when he made Pearl Harbor... I miss you more than that movie missed the point, and that's an awful lot, girl!"
I'm debating on whether to get into the Beta or not. Though it'd be nice to play the game as soon as possible, I think I'll hold off until the retail version. That way I'll get the full effect in November of brand new, unbelievably smooth, refined, Halo 3 goodness.
Uhhh... Nice one?
Tell me, Jenzo-- You're a little socialist, aren't you? I bet you don't like capitalism, free market economies, private ownership, and you hate corporations, Wall Street, employment, etc... And the funny thing is, you probably don't know squat about any of it.
I understand your comment was a joke, but when I see attempts at humor like that, it just sets me off. Socialists, beware!
If you don't know about Organic Light Emitting Diode TVs, I suggest doing a quick google search (just type OLED and you'll find something). For starters, it has 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio... ONE MILLION! I know. It's completely insane, I know...
They're starting to come out next year. I posted a story about it a couple days ago--
http://www.n4g.com/tech/New...
If you look around, you ...
It's about stuff like color gamut, brightness, and response time--All of which are much, much better on OLED displays.
A contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 is nothing to scoff at. Like I said before, that is roughly BETTER than what the human eye is capable of seeing! The difference between 1,000:1 and 5,000:1 might not be as clear on an LCD, but trust me, 1 MILLION for OLED is quite a step up!
And with response times less than .01 (as opposed to 4-8 for most LCDs), ...
I like how it'll show what achievements you unlock. Not a big deal, but it is something that's kind of bugged me before.
Definitely like the new functions for downloading movies! Watch them as you download, and also, downloading overnight--where the 360 shuts itself off after the movie's downloaded. Good stuff!
For all the naysayers...
I used to think the same thing about Nascar. I'd see it on tv and think--- What's the big deal? All they do is go straight, make a left, go straight again, and make another left. Do it 500 times, and you've got a race!
But after seeing it in person, which I'm sure most of the negative commenters have NOT, I realized that Nascar is, indeed, not nearly as simple as it looks. From watching it on tv, you don't get the same feel for the sound or speed...
It vastly outdoes even the highest-end LCD tvs, and has NONE of the drawbacks...
The best, most expensive LCDs have about a 5,000/10,000:1 contrast ratio, so obviously, 1,000,000:1 is just plain ridiculous (and exceeds what most human eyes are capable of).
And with a 25,000 hour projected lifespan, OLED's will last for about 9 years (assuming one watched tv every single day, for 8 hours a day). So all in all, that's a pretty long while.
But the b...
With a slight edge to Halo 3, but VERY slight in my opinion.
But that's not the point!!! The point of the video is to show off GAMEPLAY, not graphics. The graphics shown here are from the same build they showed in the "Et Tu Brute" vidoc, which was FOUR months ago, and even then, the footage was already several months old!!! So in reality, this footage is representative merely of where the devs were about 7-9 months ago.
For people criticizing the foota...
I hadn't seen that one before! Not sure if it's new, but yeah, definetely should've been the story before this year old video! The town looks pretty polished, and it's good to hear Molyneux say it's completely free-roaming (one of my few disappointments from teh original, though I still loved it).
Capcom's one of my favorite devolopers now. Dead Rising and Lost Planet were both great games, and I'm definetely going to be getting the sequel (finger crossed for Lost Planet 2!)
A couple of things I'd like to see in Dead Rising 2:
--Co-op, obviously... At least have offline. Online would be good, but I'd love to be able to play this game with people at my house.
--Modify the time limit... The mall in Dead Rising was HUGE, and in big games like that, I like to t...
I agree. To me, the article smacks of bias, particularly because its scathing criticism is focused solely on Microsoft, even though the author acknowledges that other companies do the same:
"Sony, like Microsoft, announces units shipped, not actually sold. This allows both companies to advertise sales numbers based on how many units they can force retailers to accept, not on how many units customers actually buy; both have considerable market power to push excess unsold in...
This is for people like Juevani (and the same goes for fanatics on either side)... The instant you use a term like "xbot," your argument and viewpoint immediately lose all credibility. No one's going to listen because you've shown every reader that you're a biased "fanboy," incapable of reasoned thought.
So when you say, "I agree with the article," the statement falls on deaf ears. No one cares what you "think" because you've already labe...
Those graphics are terribly unimpressive...
referring to the announcement trailer--the one where Master Chief was walking through the desert. And frankly, after seeing these alpha builds without any of the features Frankie's been talking about for monthe, I expect the final game to look just as good as the announcement trailer, perhaps even better in some ways.
I think for some people, it only seems like more games are coming out this year because right now, we just don't know about the schedule for '08. But I bet that the vast majority of titles haven't even been announced yet. My fingers are crossed for Project Offset!
Icryo: Rest assured, Microsoft isn't going to release fewer titles in 2008-- not when they have a bigger install base, and developers have greater familiarity with the hardware. Really, I only see the depth and number...
I love Oblivion, but what can I say? I would've been shocked NOT to hear something about a bug with Shivering Isles. It's probably not easy for the devs to find all the glitches (expecially when they happen after 150 hours), but still, it's a bit of an annoyance at the very least. For people like me, who were planning on starting over and playing through again, this is gonna make me hold off (which is probably a good thing, since I plan on devoting massive amounts of time--enough to build an ...
Isn't this the exact same thing PS3 fans were wailing on Microsoft for doing? Well, maybe not exactly, since this new PS3 still probably won't come with a cable... But if it did-- then, it'd be the exact same thing.
I like the idea of going from 20 to 120gb, but 60 to 80 just seems a little pointless.
