The sunlight and the master chief look good, but the background textures look flat and barren. I'm sure a lot of people are going to focus on one or the other, depending on the console they prefer, but at this stage I don't think either assessment is right. The screens are OK... Not great. Not terrible. Simply OK.
So in anticipation of rampant fanboyism (I bet at least a couple dozen say something akin to "xbot" or "Halo sucks" in their first sentence), as ...
Joe's the man!
I can't believe it actually doesn't look that bad! Very surprising. I'd like to see it in HD.
and from a map that's a little more polished. Then, I think we'll get a better picture of what to expect.
Have no doubt, Halo 3 is going to be a graphical showcase. When 1 and 2 first came out, they blew everything else out of the water. Halo 3 will be no different.
I think this comparison is the last time people will be able to belittle this game. Halo is the reason we have a 360; it's Microsoft's flagship title; and make no mistake, it will be a formidable, bou...
I want to see HD gameplay of one of the polished boards---not some low-res footage leaked from Zanzibar that everybody's going to complain about...
I can't wait to see how they improve the graphics. The driver's seat view was, and still is, really quite impressive. And when you walked around the different garages looking at cars, the graphics were absolutely unreal! Can't wait to see how it's expanded.
And that is, every game on 360---or at least every AAA game---should be required to use something similar to Halo 2. I couldn't believe it when Gears of War didn't have matchmaking, and I still can't believe that after being out for a year and half, no game on 360 has the ease of use that Halo 2 did. In fact, I doubt anything will until Halo 3 comes out.
I want to see matchmaking comparable to a several years old original xbox game. But apart from that, I don't think 14 cents ...
And if I was a PS3 owner, I'd think the same thing. Unless you're playing the game on a 100-inch projector, 720p/1080i should be just fine. Especially, as it frees up the hardware for more graphical effects.
I'd really like to see a graphics comparison of DMC running at 1080p on the PS3, and a fully optimized 720p version for the 360. I think that'd be a pretty interesting comparison... and I bet it would change some minds for people who always get excited when they see "1...
Can't stop looking at the screenshot... graphics, ridiculous... must have more...
This was one of the earliet games that really got me hyped for next-gen! I can't believe they halted development!!!!
Here's a refresher course for those who don't know...
A couple of videos. To the right is one I remember. There are also a couple on the first page that give a decent impression of gameplay.

I want to see this:

The fourth picture's enough to give me a headache!
Some of the numbers are higher, others are lower. Anybody want to translate?
Armyless--That's the best analogy I've heard yet! Exactly, straight-up, dead-on example. Positive feedback for that one!
---And for everybody whining about how "stupid" you think Rush Limbaugh is, I think it's important to note that just because someone's viewpoint differs from your own, it doesn't make it stupid!
A differing opinion is completely separate from an idiotic one. Typically, a stupid opinion is presented either from a position of ignorance,...
Tell it like it is, El Rushbo
Is there any way to keep the screenshots from automatically downsizing? When I click on the thumbnail, I can see the big, clear image forming, but the instant it's done, it shrinks down to fit the window (becoming jagged in the process). It only happens on Totally360, just wasn't sure if I was missing something...
It's good to finally hear a thoughtful comment like that!
I can't stand these people who run around hoping that the other console fails. For some reason, fanboys just can't understand how the competition between Sony and MS has forced both companies to step up their hardware/features/services. It's done nothing but good things for gamers! Why do people want it to end?
Oh, and for people who want to relive the glory days where Nintendo was the only console and eve...
I think it looks pretty good. At least, a heck of a lot better than the screenshots from a while back. I'd like to see an hd version.
1 -- This is the exact same story that was posted here about a week ago. Only this one is shorter, less informative, more speculative, and uses a source that looks to have simply summarized the general idea seen in the longer blog article already posted here.
2 -- Since all companies do it, who cares. This article is as relevant as a post talking about the original xbox's sales figures and raising the question: Were they exaggerated as well?
This article is here ...
Didn't see your comment til I submitted mine. Glad to see my analysis was so dead on! "Master Chief looks good... textures look flat..." Ha! Ha!
See people, I'm not a fanboy!
