@yas first, nonominated for 25 awards and winning 25 are completely seperate things. Secondly, of course the game won awards before people playing (the demo) it looked great, it won awards on that merit, after playing there was more criticism, seems pretty clear to me. Lastly, titanfall WON over 100 awards, (and was pretty good) ryse over 50, (and was ok at best) aliens colonial marines won over 50. (And was terrible) So are you saying every game that is nominated to win (or wins awards) shou...
By that logic wouldn't everyone just review every game badly to get attention for all that "bad news?" Maybe reviewers just didn't like the game that much....
Unjustified? They played the demo and were unimpressed, hardly hate. Seeing as the game is only ~7 hours their 2 hour playthrough were pretty indicative of the full game. Hard to claim it is hate when they were explaining their experience.
Why do we want game to fail? So reviewing games and giving scores based on their merits is wanting them to fail? The points given are fair points, noone "wants" the game to fail, they are just reviewing their experience. They even go as far as explaining the issues such as, black bars obscure view when in cover, not enough control during most of the game (aka designated path), too many section with no gameplay, qtes during cutscenes make it hard to just watch, short, generic gun pla...
@mystical, if that were the only source sure, I would agree whole-heartedly. But when the reviews, gamestop, amazon verified and meta users are all almost equal, it becomes pretty clear... what would actually be comical would be for someone to completely ignore all the evidence except for one point and try to make it seem as if that is the basis of the argument.
I assume you agree with soap on this so you also agree that ryse ans TLOU's public opinion are also indecernabl...
@soap you are just being intentially facetious now. You argument you are using could be said about ANYTHING. It is like saying the majority of people who played ryse could go either way because user input is invalid. Ryse clearly was not a great game and the majority did not think it was great. The same with this game. You are also suggesting that games that are praised by the majority cannot be considered that the majority like it. So TLOU is now not great in the majority. Right? Or do you o...
It isn't a blanket statement, it is a summation of all the evidence, there is nothing to show anything otherwise. Just because you wouldl ike to ignore it means nothing. Again, honestly I am not saying one opinion is better than another, but I also am not trying to pretend the mass of information on this game doesn't eXist. I am not claiming that people were just brainwashed by hate so they gave it low scores, nor the inverse. My point is what makes the low scores such an invalidity a...
User review scores of hundreds of people on meta average to 5.8 In score. 40 verified amazon purchasers = out to 6.9. 6.4 from hundreds of users on gamestop. All the reviews lean average out to 65 on meta. Not sure how much more evidence you need.
I think you misunderstand upvotes on this site (completely meaningless) as actual unbiased gamers who agree with you. Those upcupvotes actually largely come from people who
A. Probably don't even own the game but make it...
Ahh, so because you like the game anything that doesn't match your opinion is a "hateful" review? Makes sense, forgot that opinions of those on N4G are always presented as fact. The reality is maybe the majority of people just really didn't like it. Are you suggesting that 42/62 (75 or below scores) people are simply just hateful? Not to mention kinda funny games, podcast beyond, IGN's review discussion, gamespot's discussion, etc, etc, etc all have multiple people w...
@uk that is quite the propafanda speech you have come up with there. Maybe aliens also came down and brainwashed all the journalists too. Funny how onpy the few hogh reviews are "correct" but anything low no matter how many rate it low, is somehow a disgruntled journalist.
The reality is this game is not that great In most peoples opinion. If you like it fine, but to act like your opinion is the end all is just idiotic. Don't worry though, I am sure the upvotes ...
Every game ever released has "gone gold." That term means the game is complete and being prepared for distribution. How does that make them great games? ...

Why is it so necessary to win? isn't the important part to have a console in which games, content and excellent online service what we should strive for?
Idk why sales are suddenly the end all this gen.... I personally could care less, wiiu and xbox one are both selling less than ps4 but have had plenty of great games and content. As long as that continues sales are not of importance To me, and I can't imagine why it would be to anyone.
It seems like pretty much every major outlet no matter how large the group find the same issues with this game. It's nice to have outlets doing these videos to explain the game in depth. When you just have 1 person, for one review, it makes it hard to tell. That is why I like these videos that are all around that have groups of people voicing their feelings on the game. It is also helpful that almost everyone agrees to a tee in these group discussions. Comments seem to be either one extr...
This guide doesn't really have that much ... well, guide. I was hoping it would have the item locations. :/
Also, idk where people, including this site, are coming up with 10 hour playthroughs from. Literally every single let's play is between 5 and 7 hours.

This video seems like a really fair assessment from gamers who have actually played the game. It gives insight as to why scores are low/average, that so many other seem to be wondering about. I am looking forward to playing this game monday, but I am much happier to have realistic expectations.
Seems really weird to have so much of the gameplay, which is kind of limited as is, be restricted to just walking down hallways though. I hadn't realized how prevelant it was.
I don't understand the hate for this game, this guy clearly is being too harsh. He only fully explains like 15-20 issues he has withthe game. Clearly the prerelease hate got to him. Should be 10/10.
@mike I never said ryse was good? Is it graphically impressive, especially fir a launch game? Sure, but that doesn't mean anything. Why is it that in your mind anyone who doesn't praise this game is suddenly a fanboy in "MS' camp?" Maybe the reality is that you are the actual fanboy and you can't accept anything that doesn't match how you feel.
Also I am not saying the order is bad, I am saying the reviewers are part of some conspiracy to bring t...
These glitches are pretty normal, and don't seem all to widespread either. That said, they did make claims about glitches being unacceptable, which honestly, they did a pretty good job. That is why this article is here though, a response to those claims.
On a seperate note, I love the people who go to spread the "hate" conspiracy to explain why the game is amazing and the reviewers are just blinded by everyone elses hate, or else they would have given the game a...
@metallica good argument, don't bother to actual find reaaoning to support your argument, just throw out generic insults in an attempt to diminish the validity of what I am saying. whatever makes you feel better about demanding your opinion be seen as fact.
@hugs it's good to EVERYONE else who bought it? Interesting.
