Interesting to see adrienne so frequently push which reviews he wants people to see. Such an insane amount of defense and lack of professionalism from the team. I have never seen a team whine so much publicly.
You could say the same thing this reviewer says for ANY game. For example ryse, which btw is not that great, and reviewed as such. Just like this game. Either way, here it goes:
"The reviewers of Ryse seem to be judging it based on what it's no...
This will be interesting, I can't imagine they get anywhere near beating this game.
I gotta say, this is an AWESOME choice on MS/Lionhead's behalf. I would have been VERY hesitant to buy this game (as most would I am sure) but as a free to play you can play with ALL your friends, no purchase necessary. (console and PC)
you do realize MOST of the reviews above 8 and below 5 are from essentially unknown sites, it goes both ways. That said the game clearly is not a 2/10, but there is only one 2/10 score.
This isn't the only game to fall victim, in fact it at least was within the realm of possibility. Here are some good examples of games that got 2/10, despite almost all 8+ reviews:
@mysticstrummer it is funny, because I agree this game IMO is more than a 2 or 4, but you don't see me claiming they are normal. Every game has unreasonable reviews. Forza horizon's meta was completely destroyed because some moron gave it a 2/10 .... the game would be 90+ without that.
And guess what people weren't whining and bitching about how unfair reviews are then, so why now, when the meta is actually pretty accurate compared to the most common scores is it...
@usmc yes, I played it, as if you'll believe me regardless. It seems you have some insane idea that noone can play the game and have their own opinion of it. Even if the majority of opinions reflect the same things.
I listed my issues above.
Insomniac made a good game, RAD made a decent game. The scores reflect that. It has nothing to do with the game.
What it really is, is fanboy hypocrisy. When others had the SAME issues with ryse as this game, there were a landslide of people in agreeance, now those things are good?
The 2-4 score are outlandish, but no more outlandish than the high 8's and 9's. That said, I would harsly say either side are lying, it is just that their opinions are different than mine.
They were named in the reviews, but for me Personally.
-The view obstruction in cover (due to black bars) is really annoying
-I have spent most of the game just walking down alleys
-the AI hardly react to anything
-the quicktime events are a bit to often and are really ajarring as they happen while you are trying to pay attention to what is happening in a cutscene
-not an issue yet, but after I am done, there is literally nothing else to do.

Yes, people want the game to fail or are just to stupid to realize how great the game is...
That makes much more sense than people just not being that impressed due to the flaws with the game. Namely flaws with gameplay, the most important part of a ... GAME.
I guess that depends how bad one thinks it is. I have played for a few hours now and it has quite a few issues, certainly not bad though. I would say maybe 7/10 For me.
I'd say the majority of the reviews seem right on to me, I think people misunderstanding what scores mean might be the problem. On almost every scale available 6-7 is a decent game 7-8 is good 8-9 is great 9-10 is excellent. I would hardly call this game great and for me personally it is more in the decen...
Best 2.50/month I have ever spent on gaming related items. Love the continuously expanding, playing games early, (as well as being able to try before I buy) and a 10% doscount on all ea content. No brainer.
100% agree, I am only 2 hours in, but from what information has been available about the game, all those things would be amazing additions. Would love to see MP too. Seems like the game has a great foundation.
@uth Yea, in the 80's the 3 a's stood for sales, innovative qualities and decent review scores. That is 35 years ago. AAA has related to a big budget title since the early 90's, so if his last reference to the gaming culture is in the 80's, I stick to my previous statement.
Does that change that he has no clue what AAA is? It makes it hard to take serious when such a common term is misused. I do agree, bloodbourne will likely be the first 9+ AAA exclusive game for PS4, but def8nitely not the "first AAA game" by a long shot
Idk I agree, somehwat with the author, for me TLOU was an 8/10. It just didn't quite feel right, the controls were too weighty and the stealth mechanics didn't feel comfortable, still a great game though. While Uncharted, (1 and 3 especially) Crash (1 and 3 especially) and Jak and Daxter (1 and 2 especially) remain to this day amoung my top 10 games EVER lists.
Why is it that suddenly no reviews can be trusted with this game? The same things were said about ryse with no backlash. Hate prior to launch (like dialing a phone) QTE heavy, beautiful, average gameplay, short campaign, etc. Why is it that the same EXACT people who agreed with all those judgements about ryse suddenly love it about the order?
I just find it weird how people can flip flop so easily, hypocrisy gone wild. The judgemnts were accurate with ryse and still are wit...
There are people seriously even defending this? I swear the blind fanaticism surrounding this game is insane. In what world is threatening to pull ad revenue for bad reviews any different from paying people for good scores?
I swear there is nothing that the people on this won't defend in the name of their console of choice.
What? Now the creators of the game are doing reviews for their own game? This has to be the weirdest thing I have ever heard.
Plus it is weird how he goes about it, as if he is claiming other "opinions" to be wrong... "The 8 that you give, I think, is the more accurate opinion." It seems like that is the score he wants people to have, either way seems really unprofessional to me.
@sckipt it is one thing to judge your own game, it is a whol...
Really looking forward to this game, resolution regardless.
