Seriously, guess what im currently playing on my WiiU - super metroid. Im playing a 20 year old 16 bit game on my (allegedly) next gen console. And its not because i dont have any of WiiU's flagship titles - i have Mario which is decent, i have pikmin which is ok, and i have lego city which is great if you like loading screens.

I just went to the PSN store and did a search for killzone. It brings back two pre-order options, 1 with a bonus weapon and one with a 48 hour XP multiplier.
already got my copy pre-ordered off PSN.

Its a head mounted display that tracks head movement and uses it for in game camera movement. If you have seen any of the Occulus Rift demo videos then its the same thing.
It doesn't deserve the hate, it just doesn't deserve the praise which xbox fanboys are projecting onto it.
It simply does not look like a very good game.
My thinking is down to two reasons. Firstly I think the console market is slightly shrinking, I don't think it will be that significant this generation but I don't think we will see another console do PS2/Wii numbers.
Secondly is that for the casual player there isn't a lot to motivate them to buy a next gen console over a current one - which they might already own.
So overall I think we will see less total consoles sold. Also factor into that tha...

I think it will play out much the same as this generation.
Both companies will start slow-ish but MS will do a better job of advertising to the masses. The big guns (halo, uncharted) will start arriving late next year and Sony will start to edge ahead with its number of exclusives year on year where MS will cut back in the later years as its track record shows.
MS will continue with buying times exclusives from the bigger 3rd parties, and DLC on all platforms...

If you wanted a portable FPS then this is it, no other game comes close. I would even say that its better than Killzone 3 as it feels more like Killzone 2 which was my favourite.

I was going to get a PS4 but after reading your thought provoking and well structured comment I have completely reversed my position.
