Price is only part of the problem. The Xbox One has an image problem. The hardware, mainly the GPU is weak sauce in comparison to the PS4. So the games output in weird resolutions like 792p, the general public knows the PS4 has better performing multiplats, look at the software numbers. My 11 year old cousin knows about the Xbox One's resolution problems, he just knows the PS4 is better. It's common knowledge. Why would you expect more? They sold 77,000 last month, 115,000 the month before and still got outsold when Titanfall released and everyone created incentive to buy it. The general public just doesn't want it, they want the PS4.
If me quoting numbers, articles, statistics and things Microsoft have said is disrespectful, that's not my problem. I say how I perceive them, which what having a discussion on a gaming site about gaming is all about. IMO.

You realise Sony revealed their console first.
Worldwide it's over 4:1 recently. In the US it's over 2:1.
It was probably an equally as big celebration when Microsoft revealed the specs of the Xbox One. Being that much cheaper with quite a bit better hardware has to feel great. Not to mention Microsoft's DRM business. Win, Win, Win.
Which is why the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One over 4:1 worldwide recently, and over 2:1 in the US recently, with the Xbox One selling less than the 360 ever did at 77,000 last month.

People obviously do care, it's part of the reason for such low sales. Missing games like Bioshock's, Far Cry's etc.

I think you are forgetting the Wii and the mass amounts of shovelware it pumped out. Nintendo's first party for most part has always been solid for ages though, no one can deny that.
Nintendo has amazing first party studios, but they also get alot of free passes based on nostalgia.

You have admit, it better than breezing through a game being led around by markers and beating bosses easily on the first try. Which describes way to many games.
I don't see what's wrong with it. Games like Titanfall use cannon fodder as a selling point. I like games to be difficult.

No. But I know they sold less than 100,000 units last month and are getting outsold more than 4:1 worldwide by the Playstation. All while having "The most anticipated game ever", dropping the price, removing Kinect, remove paywalls, changing their policies, having "All the AAAs" and "The best 2014 line-up" and all while the PS4 has "no games"
