You would actually have own studio that make games first, most of Microsoft's studios focus on Kinect, Multimedia features, Updates and Apps.

Microsoft just use their 1st party to cycle Halo, Forza, Fable and now Gears. They use 3rd parties to introduce new IPs, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Scalebound etc.

Sunset Overdrive in 900p, Diablo is 900p, Titanfall is 792p, Dead Rising is 720p, Ryse is 900p and the Halo 5 trailer made reference to 60FPS but not 1080p, so I'm assuming it isn't either. All the Xbox One has really reached 1080p on is a few cross gen games and Forza 5 which was heavily downgraded.

Agreed. Using the same architecture was a great choice, that works out well for everyone. Last gen was chaos.
This is a way bigger problem for the Xbox One than the PS4.

Take a look at Quantum Break, which is a beautiful game and take a look at Uncharted. Quantum Break guaranteed will be running sub 1080p and Uncharted is atleast 1...

The Wii U's 1st party has been solid in 2014 without a doubt. They convinced me to get one in 2015, when a few more titles like Zelda are available.

I agree Insomniac are capable of making great games, I'm just pointing out their recent track record. It is what it is.
