If you only have a 1080p TV this would be perfectly fine.
Your comment is like someone buying a Chevrolet Corvette talking about someone who owns a Chevrolet Spark. You are trying to compare the performance of the two as equivalent, whereas all of MS' information on the console states that it has a lower resolution target but everything else is the same. That's what this video shows... A lower resolution target with everything else being equal. This game doesn...

Here they compared the exact same Watch Dogs loads:

from the 1:35 - 2:00 part of the video and there was only a 3 second difference with the exact same Watch Dogs content shown.
Yours is a comparison of game save load time. And you can see in the video that t...

What is nonsense?
There are no NVMe cards that you can use on PS5 yet. So what price are they going to be? We just don't know. While you can speculate based on market prices for like cards, we still don't know which ones will actually work in PS5 and therefore they could be more expensive. Any guess right now is pure speculation.
As for the price/performance comparison. There are many videos comparing the XSX and PS5 load ...
First there is no drive available to plug into an PS5 so comparing it is useless. You are comparing hypothetical to reality.
Second, the raw performance of the drive does not seem to matter. In load tests where they do apples-to-apples comparisons (still display the title screens on PS5) there is next to no difference in performance between the machines. So, your price for performance would be the same. It doesn't matter if the had an 80 GB/s drive. If it doesn'...
@SierraGuy
"Good" is subjective.
I play games for the art (SP campaigns, stories, etc.). That doesn't make me any better then other gamers. It is just the reason I game. And it just means I ignore most GaaS as they mostly as they are more based on MP and competition then art.

PS5 launched with 2 new games, 1 demo game, and 1 remake...
Sackboy, Spider-man MM, Astro's Playroom, and Demon's Souls Remake.
To me, that is a good console launch. But, that doesn't mean I just blindly follow Sony like many people on this site seem to do. To me it was a good launch not a spectacular launch.
What I am more impressed with is they are saying R&C, GT, and Horizon are all schedule ...
1) Physical retail has this thing called competition. It costs 10's of millions to setup stores like Costco, Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc. But I can goto any competitor and buy the products too. The problem with all the digital stores is where can I shop if I become disenfranchised with the Apple Store? Every store has risk but only digital stores don't have competition.
2) We are directly paying the 30% fees as they price the games to ma...
What does XB have to do with this? Metro Exodus is releasing on PS5 as well.
DMC5 is another example of charging for a next gen version.
Call of Duty. LOL. You can't buy a standard edition version for the next gen, you have to but the Deluxe or greater version to get a next gen version.
Also, you have to buy Spider-man MM to get the other Sony Spider-man game for next gen. So Sony is milking that nicely. Charging gamers for a...
The problem is that when GaaS goes well it sets up the company for years of success.
There are two types of game developers now-a-days.
The types that unlock their framerates, resolution, and use the hardware to put out a new version that is free to gamers for their games this generation.
Then there is the ones that do the same, but add a few improvements and sell the game for the new generation.
I can't believe gamers encourage developers to use developer resources to make changes to games and resell them for the n...
First point.... Stores used to change every few months now they are changing much slower. So, you have proven my point on costs.
Third Point... Instead of looking at things on how can I benefit companies I am look at what benefits the people and consumers. Store competition would change the dynamic from "lock-in and milk" to "compete across". When I buy a PS for example, why can't I join XB Game Pass Ultimate, and buy my games on Steam? Any arg...
I think that there are several fundamental flaws with the logic.
First, stores are maturing and over time there is less and less changes so they will get to a point of no more innovation. Thereby, not needing the development and becoming cheaper and cheaper to maintain.
Second, although I agree with the volume argument, gaming companies such as Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft rake in 100's of millions to billions of dollars each year from gaming. There...

Frankly, I quit downloading most of the PS Plus and XB Games with Gold over a year ago... They both used to provide a lot of good mid-level games that were either under-rated or under-sold. Now they are either junk nobody wants or a AAA game that everyone pretty much already has. This past half year has been junk outside of the PS Collection of the generation (which is a bunch of games that almost everyone who wanted already own).
@fr0sty
There has been performance comparisons of SSD for both XB and PS5 and in a practical sense they have not yielded a significant difference.
Yes, there was the Assassin's Creed load demo where the PS5 skipped title screens making it way faster, but when you compare apples to apples, the load times from SSD are pretty much equal. In most of the demos when they were loading the same stuff from SSD the XSX was usually a couple second difference (usually in ...
The key thing I have taken away from all these comparisons is that both consoles are pretty much equal. XSX and full PS5 perform pretty much the same most of the time. Dips in performance in either console can be (for now at least) attributed to the OS/Firmware and SDK bugs that are inevitable at the start of every generation. By year two or three I expect both consoles will be performing pretty much the same all the way through.
No secret sauce making one console magica...

Think Covid-19 for a second and how manufacturing has been affected everywhere from local shutdowns and issues.
Would you prefer them to not do a launch and then when they save up enough consoles in 2022 launch a game console that's outdated?
Or maybe different gamers like different consoles, and having something differentiate them spurs innovation and the ongoing quest for both consoles to be better.
Exactly. This is a re-packaging of a game that took nominal effort to create. Yet, they are getting 9's for the lack of effort. These kinds of reviewers should have their review rights taken away.
Ya, I really hate games being scored based on hype vs. actual work and reviews. There are many IPs, Development Studios, and Publishers where as soon as they announce a game it is a 10 in people's minds.
I prefer to rate games based on what I actually see. I have been really tempted to pre-order this one, but have so far managed to wait and see based on reality.
That said, I can't wait for it to release, so that I can assess and decide.
