Welp, I'll be surprised if M$ bothers to make another console after this. I mean, this is probably the worst console reveal ever. I just got back from GFAQs and saw a lot of Xbox owners say they're just gonna move on to PC and PS4 now. They're losing their own fans because of this disconnect with the hardcore and core gamers.
That's on them. Sony's gonna win this console gen no doubt now. Dunno what the hell Microsoft was thinking.

Dynamic maps is such an old concept. It took them ages to add this in, just like they didn't add HDR lighting until 2012 with Blops 2, even though real-time HDR lighting has been around since at least '05 with the Half-Life 2 Lost Coast tech demo.

I don't know about "love", but apparently people don't realize that Sony and Microsoft have done business together many times throughout the years... This. The fact that everyone is talking about new graphics instead of them fixing the terrible gameplay, shows the problem with gamers today. What they NEED to do is fix the crappy netcode, so we stop getting shot even though we already made it around the corner, and so people stop "magically" appearing in front of us. But yeah, it didn't feel too different to me... I just wasn't impressed. Campaign started off good, then quickly became bats*** insane nonsense. MP was just more of the same, lag and crappy netcode ruined the game with ease. Glad I didn't buy it myself.
This isn't even mostly relevant but the name of this article or whatever, just reminds me of the old days of waiting on firmware updates on the PSP haha. Every release used to be so hyped in the homebrew community. I miss those days.

I don't think this console will use up a crazy amount of power. I have an APU in my desktop and even at full load, the thing is completely silent (my HSF is silent, I mean lol. CPU/APU's don't make noise). This thing will be a lot more energy-efficient than console designs of the past, and I think the NextBox will be along the same lines with being energy efficient.

Yeah don't get me wrong, Valve is much better than a lot of other companies *cough*EA*cough*Activision*cou gh*. It's just that some of the things they've done in the past were questionable or dumb, but those moments are really infrequent and they never made the same mistake twice.

Truth be told I don't even like a lot of Valve's games. The games I do most likely, they didn't even directly develop (like the Counter-Strike games, Day of Defeat, etc.) They're nice as a company, but I won't really pretend that they're perfect or whatever.
The destruction will probably mainly be in single-player. The kids in the multiplayer will have the entire map leveled in one minute tops. It'd get old fast.
