By your argument, when the 2nd gen games come out for the PS3, we’ll be looking at 3rd gen 360 games. The developers are not going to spend the extra $$ to have two different games. They’re going to develop one game on a system (probably on the 360 because it’s easier to develop for) then port it over to the other systems. You have to remember that they are a business and want to maximize profit. Just because they have additional storage space for the PS3, doesn’t mean they’re going to spend all that extra time and money to fill it.
If PS3 games are filling 25 Gbs of space as Phil claims, then I hope the games are 3x as good and 3x as long as 360 games. But I doubt that is the case. RFOM is just filled with other junk to make it appear as if the Blu-Ray drives are requires, but in reality it’s just a way for Sony to push its format. The PS3 is brand new and the 360 has been out almost a year. In all honesty, can you really say that the PS3 and its game lineup this year match the 360 and its game lineup? I don’t think so. The “it” game Resistance looks to be just another FPS: nothing new. I know you’re going to say that this is the PS3 launch lineup compared to the 2nd gen games of the 360, but the simple fact is the 360 lineup is better. Who cares which gen it is, and who’s fault is it that the PS3 was delayed a year?
The reason why Sony isn’t releasing the GPU specs is because they know it can’t compare to the 360’s. The Nvidia chip was a rushed decision after they realized the Cell processor couldn’t handle the job of both CPU and GPU. I assume that was over two years ago considering the PS3 was supposed to launch last year, and delayed due to problems with Blu-Ray drives. Am I missing something here? What’s the point of cross platform communications? So you can chat with someone on a PC? If that’s the case then this is pretty lame. I’m assuming some developers will use Xfire as their portal for network gaming on the PS3, but it just goes to show you that Sony doesn’t really have an online strategy yet. Real cross platform gaming will be coming between the 360 and PC.
Where do you get this information? Pictures? Hardly a reliable source. Let's wait until the PS3 is actually out before making guesses like that.
Why are people ripping on thw 12 hrs of game play? Didn't God of War only take around 10 hrs to complete? Besides, online game play will extend this game far into the future. I'm still having fun playing GRAW, which I bought 6 months ago because of the online play.
Not using the 360 graphics card? What are you smoking? The Unreal Engine is software that runs on the 360 hardware. From what I hear the 360 GPU is superior to the PS3's. That's why the new Nvidia G80 cards will use the unified architecture like the 360's. That being said, I think both the PS3 and 360 will produce great graphics this generation. Let's hope they don't spend all their time on graphics and forget game play.

Sony’s claim that Resistance is 20 is just more smoke Sony’s blowing. What they don’t tell you is that they’re including every region onto the same disk. I don’t know how much larger they make it, but given Son’s history of hype, I would take what they say with a grain of salt. And with the Blu-Ray data transfer rate being so slow, I think load times will be much longer. Just got back from the screening of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and the GoW promo. First, the movie was bad. Just more blood and gore. Can't they make a movie where the people are half intelligent? Second, GoW looked great and played really well, but I think they still need to work some kinks out. My biggest issue was that the game would stutter once in a while. If they can fix that before launch, it'll be one hell of a game.
The wii is just a GC with a new controller. Why would anybody pay $250 for another GC?!? Nintendo is trying to rip its customers off! They should have just sole the controller for $60 and extend the life of the GC then develop a new system to come out in a year or two. I think when people realize this; it will leave a very bad taste in their mouths.

Quite a comment considering you have no knowledge of how the game was developed. Currently 99% (360, PS3, and PC’s) of games are designed for single core processors. I hear developers say that it’ll be a couple of years before games truly take advantage of the multi core processors so I think we’ll be seeing even more amazing games in the future. Online game play was an afterthought for Sony. That’s evident by the lack of details coming forth about their online service and developers removing online game play because Sony hasn’t even told them any details…more of Sony’s smoke up your asses. And their comment about the PS3 lasting 7-10 years is a joke. Maybe as a Blu-Ray player (if the format wins), but not as a game machine. 5 years tops.

I really don’t think PS3 games will utilize the extra storage Blu-Ray offers them to enhance game play or experience all that much in the near future. Sure they’ll use it, but with what? We know that RFOM contains all the regional games on one disk, but I haven’t seen anything else to warrant the 25GB, albeit I’ve only seen video footage of the game.
